This faux leather pencil skirt by Lenitif is the office skirt with an edge. It is straight and close, ends just below the knee on the model, and has a slit in the middle of the front so you can walk in it.
The material is 98% polyester with 2% spandex, with a leather-look finish. There is a covered zip at the back and a small decorative clasp on the waistband. It is available in grey and black.

The piece: a Lenitif midi skirt in grey and black
Lenitif is a womenswear label we buy through a fashion wholesaler in Poland. The supplier's description is precise for once: a midi pencil skirt, fastened at the front with a decorative clasp and at the back with a covered zip, with no pockets and no lining, and a slit in the middle at the front.
The supplier has its own word for the material. The composition says polyester and spandex, so we call it faux leather.
Grey and black are the ones the supplier still lists.
Who it's for
For you if you want a leather-look skirt for work and prefer a textile to an animal hide. A pencil cut in leather look is one of those pieces that makes a plain jumper look intentional.
Know two things before you order. The skirt is unlined, so with tights the faux leather may cling a little. And there are no pockets.

Fabric and feel: polyester faux leather
The maker lists 98% polyester and 2% spandex. In the photos the surface is smooth with a low, soft sheen, closer to matte nappa than to patent. The 2% spandex gives a little give, which a pencil skirt needs when you sit down.
Because there is no lining, the inside of the material sits against your skin or your tights. Some people like the lighter feel of an unlined skirt. If you prefer a slip under it, any half slip will do.
Fit and silhouette: straight, high-waisted, below the knee
The maker's table is the same for both colours. Size S is 64 cm long with a waist width of 72 cm and a hips width of 92 cm. Each size adds 4 cm at waist and hips, up to 84 cm and 104 cm in XL. Length barely changes: 64.5 cm in M and 65 cm in L and XL.
With only 2% stretch fibre, pick the size that fits your hips and check the waist second. The table does not say whether the numbers are garment or body measurements, so lay a pencil skirt you own flat, measure the waist and hips, double them and compare.

Styling: soft on top
In the photos the skirt is worn with a soft blouse with a ruffled V-neck, tucked in, and black heels with an ankle strap. That contrast is the trick: a smooth, firm skirt and a fluid top.
The grey looks fresh with white, pale blue or camel. The black goes with everything and is at its nicest with texture: a fluffy jumper, a glossy shirt, a tweed blazer. Ankle boots work as well as pumps, since the slit keeps the line open at the front.
Occasions
Wear it to the office, to a meeting where you want to look sharp, to a dinner or to drinks afterwards. With a knit and boots it becomes a weekend skirt for town.
Care: follow the label
The maker's data we receive has no care instructions, so please go by the label sewn into the skirt.
Faux leather creases if it is folded for long. Hang the skirt by its waistband, and keep it away from direct heat.
The wow detail: the slit sits at the front
A pencil skirt usually hides its slit at the back. Lenitif put it in the middle of the front, where it lines up with the small clasp on the waistband. It gives the skirt a centre line from waist to hem and shows a little knee when you walk.
