This flared dress by Awama has a boat neckline with a few decorative pleats, 3/4 sleeves, a fitted bodice and a very full skirt that ends around the knee. It is 96 to 99 cm long.
The fabric is 60% polyester, 35% viscose and 5% spandex. Two colours are available: a pink that looks raspberry in the photos, and a deep red.

The piece: an Awama dress for ceremonies
Awama describes it as a dress for special occasions: a flared silhouette, a boat neckline with decorative pleats and 3/4 sleeves that complete a classic look.
Of the two colours, the supplier currently has only some sizes, and the size buttons show which. Our old title called this a soft-knit dress. The supplier does not say the fabric is knitted, so we have dropped that word.
Who it's for
For you if you like a dress with a waist and a skirt you can twirl in, and want your upper arms covered. The cut is a classic fit and flare: close on top, generous from the waist down.
The neckline is wide and high. It shows the collarbones and nothing more, which makes the dress easy to wear to a church, a registry office or a work event.

The supplier does not describe the closure or say whether the dress is lined. The back view points to a zip in the centre seam.
Fabric and feel: polyester and viscose with stretch
The composition is 60% polyester, 35% viscose and 5% spandex. In the photos the fabric is matte and has enough body to hold the skirt out in soft cones instead of letting it hang limp.
The spandex gives the fitted bodice some room to breathe and move. The supplier lists the weight of the dress at 450 grams.
Fit and silhouette: fitted to the waist, then wide
Chest and waist decide the size. S has a chest of 88 cm and a waist of 70 cm; M has 92 and 74 cm; L has 96 and 78 cm; XL has 100 and 82 cm.
The "hips" in the maker's table run from 140 cm to 152 cm. That is the skirt, which is far wider than any hip, so the lower body never limits the fit. Length grows by a centimetre per size, from 96 cm to 99 cm.

Styling: pumps and not much else
The models wear pointed pumps, nude with the pink and red, black with the grey. A boat neckline asks for earrings more than for a necklace.
Add a thin belt on the waist seam if you want a sharper line. A cropped jacket that ends at the waist keeps the shape; a long coat should be longer than the skirt, or the hem will stick out below it.
Occasions
The maker names parties, ceremonies and elegant outings. This is a dress for a wedding as a guest, a christening, a Christmas dinner, a theatre night or a graduation.
The wine red is an easy pick for December. The raspberry pink does well at spring and summer celebrations.
