From the front this open-back maxi dress is all covered up: a high turtleneck, long sleeves and a hem that reaches the floor. Turn around and the back is open from below the shoulder blades to the small of the back, with one thin strap and a gold-tone ring across the waist.
It is close-fitting and made of 100% polyester, according to the supplier. You choose black or red, in S, M or L.

The piece: one long line
The dress is cut as one long, close line from the neck to the floor. In the photos the fabric is smooth and matte and follows the body. The only decoration is at the back: the cut-out and the square ring where the strap meets in the middle, which the supplier describes as a metal-look ring.

Fabric and feel: smooth polyester
The supplier gives 100% polyester. In the photos it looks like a smooth, matte jersey that follows the body without creasing. The supplier gives no stretch percentage. Given how close the fit is in the photos and how small the measurements are, the fabric has to give, but we can't tell you how much.
Fit and silhouette: close, and how to read the chart
The dress is 147.4 cm long in S and 149.4 cm in L, and on the model it reaches the ground. If you are shorter, expect it to pool at your feet or plan a hem.
The supplier writes that the dress was measured flat. But a bust of 78.2 cm in S only makes sense as a measurement all the way round a dress that is meant to stretch over the body. Our advice: take a close-fitting stretchy dress that fits you, measure it all the way round at the bust and waist without stretching, and compare. If you are unsure, ask us before you order.

Styling: let the back do the work
Hair up, so the open back shows. The supplier styled the black dress with wide gold cuffs and slicked-back hair, and that is all it needs. With the high neck, skip the necklace and wear earrings or a bracelet instead.
The red version is louder and suits a party table, as in the photo. For shoes, pick something with a little heel to keep the hem off the ground.
Occasions
Wear it to a winter wedding where you want your arms covered, to a gala dinner, or to a Christmas or New Year's party. The red one makes sense for a December party in particular.
Care: follow the label
The supplier gives no care instructions, so follow the sewn-in label. As general practice for a close-fitting polyester dress with a metal-look ring: wash it inside out on a gentle cycle, or by hand, and hang it to dry. Don't press over the ring.

Everything about the front is quiet. Then the back opens up, and one thin strap with a small gold-tone ring holds it together at the waist. It is the kind of detail people only see when you walk away, which is exactly why it works.
