Metal Ant Wine Bottle Holder
For wine lovers who like playful, sculptural bottle stands
Description
A wine bottle holder in the shape of an ant
This wine bottle holder is a metal ant, bent from rod, with a coiled body and two long antennae. According to the supplier it holds one bottle of 275 to 750 ml.
You choose a bronze-coloured or a black finish and one of four poses: lying, standing, crouching or upright. Depending on the pose it is about 10 to 16 cm high and 13 to 18 cm long.

The piece: an ant drawn in metal rod
The photos show how it is put together. The legs and antennae are lengths of bent rod. The abdomen is a coil. The head is a hollow half dome with two small balls for eyes. It looks like a line drawing of an ant that someone has lifted off the page.
Each photo carries a red letter from A to D. The letter names the pose and matches the option you pick; it is not printed on the ant. We sell it without a brand, because the supplier data names no maker.
Who it's for
For you if a bottle on the sideboard deserves better than standing there alone. It suits people who like an object with a sense of humour, and anyone who has run out of ideas for the friend who already owns every corkscrew.
Closer look: what you get and what you don't
- One ant in the finish and pose you pick (supplier)
- Legs and antennae of bent rod, a coiled abdomen (photos)
- Half-dome head with two small ball eyes (photos)
- Room for one closed bottle of 275–750 ml (supplier)
- No bottle included (supplier)
One honest note: none of the photos on this page shows a bottle in the holder. The supplier's photos with a bottle show other companies' labels, so we left them out.
Materials and build: iron with a plated finish
The supplier lists the material as iron with an electroplated finish. "Bronze" is the colour of that finish and says nothing about the metal underneath. In the photos it is a warm brown with darker shading, which gives the ant an aged look. The black version is glossy.
The supplier gives no weight.
Size and dimensions: a range, not a number per pose
The supplier's chart puts the four poses at about 10 to 16 cm high and 13 to 18 cm long. The print on that chart is too small for us to give you a reliable figure for each pose. The supplier's text also mentions one overall size of 15 x 12 x 20 cm without saying which pose it belongs to.
From the photos, pose A is the lowest and pose D, which rears up, the tallest. As for the bottle: 750 ml is the standard wine bottle, and 275 ml is a small beer or mixer bottle.
Styling: bronze for warmth, black for contrast
The bronze-coloured ant sits well on a dark table and next to warm colours. The black one stands out on a light worktop or a white shelf. Either way, give it some empty space around it, because the thin legs and antennae are what make the shape readable.
Occasions
Give it with a bottle of wine at a housewarming or a birthday. At home it earns its place on the table when friends come for dinner and the bottle of the evening needs a stage.
Care: a soft dry cloth
The supplier gives no care instructions. As general practice for plated iron: dust it with a soft dry cloth, keep it dry, and skip scouring pads and strong cleaners, which can scratch the finish.
The wow detail: the ant carries the bottle
Ants are known for hauling loads far bigger than themselves. That is the joke here. A wine bottle in the grip of a wire ant makes people look twice, and then smile.
