Description
A cropped faux fur jacket with a hood, in eleven colours
This cropped faux fur jacket by AT stops at the waist and has a hood you might not notice at first. With the hood down it sits like a high collar. The pile is long and soft, laid in horizontal bands, and the whole jacket is 100% polyester.
The maker is clear that there is no padding inside. It is a light jacket for autumn and for mild winter days, lined, in two sizes: S/M and L/XL.

The piece: one jacket, a model number per colour
AT gives each colour its own model number and uses the same description for all of them. So the cut, the hood and the lining are identical, and you only choose the shade.
The maker's colour names are short, so here is what the photos show. Black and beige are what you expect. "Brown" is a warm rust and "brown 2" is a lighter camel. Violet is a soft lilac, orange is closer to peach, and green is a pale mint. Our "light blue" is a light turquoise that the maker files under green. Pink is a dusty pink, yellow is pale, and "blue" is a grey-blue.
Who it's for
For you if you like a jacket that does the dressing up for you. Put this over a plain top and trousers and you are done.
It suits you if you want the look of fur and prefer it to be faux. And it is honest to say who it is not for: if you need one coat to get through a freezing January, this unpadded jacket is not it. Wear it for the walk from the car to the restaurant.
Closer look: maker's data and photos
- Faux fur in 100% polyester (maker's data)
- Long pile in horizontal bands on body and sleeves (photos)
- Hood (maker's data); with the hood down the neck stands up like a collar (photos)
- Hook-and-loop closure (maker's data)
- Lined inside (maker's data); a lining in a matching shade shows in the open photos (photos)
- Short length, hem at the waist on the models (maker's data and photos)
- Wide long sleeves that fall over the hand (photos)
- No padding (maker's data)
You can't see the closure in the photos, because the pile covers it. The maker names hook-and-loop, and the models either wear the jacket closed or hold it together by hand.
Fabric and feel: polyester pile, no padding
Everything here is polyester. No animal fur is involved. In the photos the pile is long and glossy at the tips, and you can see it move where the model lifts her arm.
The maker says the jacket has no insulation and calls it lightweight. The lining makes it smooth to slip on over a jumper. The maker also describes the material as weather-resistant. We have not tested that, and long pile and heavy rain are rarely friends, so we would take an umbrella.
Fit and sizes: two sizes, no measurements from the maker
The jacket comes in S/M and L/XL. The maker's size table lists those two sizes and leaves the measurements empty, so we have no centimetres to give you. We would rather say that than make them up.
What the photos show: a boxy shape that ends at the waist, a body with room in it, and sleeves that are wide and long. The pile adds volume of its own. If you are between the two sizes and plan to wear a thick jumper underneath, the larger one is the safer choice. Not every colour is in stock in both sizes at all times.
Styling: let it be the loud part
The photos give you plenty of ideas. The black and the rust brown are worn with camel trousers. The beige goes over a short black pleated skirt with western boots. The pink and the yellow sit over a plain fitted dress, and the grey-blue is worn with light jeans.
The pattern is the same each time: one calm piece underneath and the jacket on top. High-waisted trousers or a skirt work well, because the jacket ends at the waist and you want the two to meet. For an evening out, the black over a slip dress is hard to beat. For a Saturday in town, take the mint or the camel with jeans and trainers.
Occasions
The maker suggests everyday wear, work, parties and more formal outings. We would put parties first. This is the jacket for a birthday dinner, a night at a bar in December or New Year's Eve, when you want something over your shoulders that looks festive.
The quieter colours, black, beige and camel, also work for a normal working day.
Care: follow the label
The maker's data has no care instructions, so go by the label sewn into the jacket.
Two general habits for faux fur: keep it away from heat, since a hot dryer or radiator can damage a polyester pile, and shake it out and comb it gently with your fingers when the pile has gone flat.
The wow detail: the hood that hides
From the front, with the hood down, you see a jacket with a tall furry collar. Then you pull the hood up and the whole thing changes: your face is framed in pile, as in the photos of the rust brown and the pink. It is two looks in one jacket, and you can switch between them at the door.
