Layered Necklace with Two Chains: Fine Box Chain and Paperclip Links

A layered necklace that comes already layered

This layered necklace saves you the puzzle of matching two chains. It is one piece with two layers: a fine box chain that sits high, and a longer chain of open paperclip links below it.

You choose gold tone or silver tone. On the model the short chain rests at the base of the neck and the long one falls just below the collarbone.

The piece: one fine chain, one open chain

The two chains are different on purpose. The box chain is thin and dense, a single bright line. The paperclip chain is airy, with long oval links you can see through. In the flat photos both chains hang from the same point, so they stay in order when you wear them.

The old name of this necklace called it hip-hop. To our eye it is finer than that word suggests. We sell it under wowstore.live, but we did not design or make it ourselves.

Who it's for

For you if you like the layered look and get annoyed when two separate necklaces twist around each other by lunchtime. It suits open necklines, such as a V-neck, a halter top or a shirt with the top buttons undone.

One of the photos shows a different necklace, a thicker paperclip chain worn with a stone-set chain. That photo is styling inspiration and not what you receive.

Materials: the gap in our data

We have no supplier sheet for this necklace. That means we do not know which metal it is, whether it has a coating, or whether it is nickel-free. We call the colours gold tone and silver tone, never gold or silver. If you react to certain metals, please keep that in mind before you order.

Length: judged from the photos

The supplier gives no lengths. In the photos the short chain sits like a choker-length necklace at the base of the neck, and the long chain hangs a few centimetres lower. The type of clasp is not shown clearly. If you need exact lengths, ask us and we will check with the supplier before you order.

Styling: skin and simple necklines

The photos show it on bare skin with a black halter top and with a cream knit off the shoulder. Fine chains need a calm background, so plain fabrics work better than busy prints. Match the tone to your earrings and rings.

Occasions

Every day, really. It is light enough in look for the office and has enough shine for dinner. It is also an easy gift, because there is no size to get wrong.

Care: keep it dry

We have no care instructions from the supplier. As general practice for fashion jewellery, take it off before showering, swimming and sport, keep perfume and lotion away from it, and store it flat or hanging so the two chains don't knot.

Put two identical chains together and you just see more chain. Put a tight, fine one above an open, graphic one and each makes the other look better. That contrast is the whole design, and it is done for you.
