Fabric and feel: wool, mohair and nylon

The composition comes from the supplier's text: 34.5% wool, 29.8% nylon, 29.2% mohair and 6.5% elastane. The supplier gives this one composition for all nine patterns. We have no label photo or test report to check it against, so read it as the supplier's declaration.

Mohair is the fibre that gives a knit its fuzzy halo, and you can see that halo in the photos. On the model the knit looks light and open. The elastane accounts for the slight stretch the supplier mentions. If you find wool or mohair scratchy on bare skin, plan on a thin top underneath.

Fit and silhouette: one size, cut wide

The jumper is 58 cm long and 58 cm wide across the chest when laid flat, so about 116 cm around. The shoulder measures 56 cm, which is why the seam sits low on the arm, and the sleeve is 48 cm from that seam. On the model the hem lands at the hip.

The supplier asks you to allow 1–3 cm difference on each figure.

Styling: let the pattern lead

The supplier's model wears the blue floral with a long grey skirt and flat sandals. That works because everything else is plain. The same idea holds for the brighter patterns: jeans or a plain skirt, simple shoes, small jewellery.

Tuck the front loosely into a waistband if you want more shape. Worn loose, it reads as relaxed.

Occasions

Wear it to a lunch with friends or to the office on a day without meetings. It also suits a birthday where you want colour without dressing up. The beaded patterns are a little more festive than the plain ones.

Care: by hand, cold, and flat to dry

The supplier says: dry clean, or wash gently by hand in cold water. Do not tumble dry, and dry it flat. We would turn it inside out first on the patterns with beads, and press the water out in a towel instead of wringing.

The wow detail: beads among the flowers

On several patterns the photos show small beads sewn on among the flowers, in a cluster near the neckline or scattered over the chest. They catch the light when you move. Not every pattern has them: we see none on the bird print, so look at the photo of the pattern you choose.
