Description
A dog poop picker with eight claws and its own bag holder
This dog poop picker is a small plastic tool for the daily walk. Eight claws open at the bottom, close around a bag, and let you pick up after your dog with your hand at the other end. A roll of bags sits inside the tool, and a lanyard lets you carry it on your wrist.
Closed, it is about 19 cm tall and 7 cm wide. It comes in teal, teal with a grey band, or orange, and the supplier includes one roll of bags.

The piece: a closed capsule with the claws inside
Closed, the picker looks like a rounded capsule with a loop handle on top. A cap covers the bottom; take it off and the claws are underneath. In the photos a thumb presses the button inside the handle while the eight claws are spread open, about 12.5 cm across according to the supplier.
A bag goes over the claws before you pick up, so the bag is what touches the ground. One photo shows a bag held open between the claws this way. We sell the tool without a brand, because the supplier data names no maker.
Who it's for
For you if you walk your dog every day and would rather not pick up with only a bag over your hand. It also helps if you tend to forget the bags, since the roll travels inside the tool.
The supplier says it suits dogs of every size. We cannot check that, so judge by the opening: the claws spread to about 12.5 cm.
Closer look: the parts we can confirm

Materials and build: plastic, type not stated
The supplier lists the material as plastic and gives no further detail. We would rather tell you that than guess at a type. There is no weight in the supplier data.
The photos show three finishes. The teal version is light teal all over, claws included. The teal and grey version has a grey band around the body and grey claws. The orange one has a black band.
Size and dimensions: 19 cm closed, 12.5 cm open
The supplier prints the measurements in inches on a photo: 7.5 inch tall and 2.8 inch wide when closed, which is about 19 cm by 7 cm. The open claws measure 4.9 inch, about 12.5 cm, from tip to tip.
The same photo shows the bag roll at 2.4 by 1.2 inch, roughly 6 cm by 3 cm. That is handy to know when you buy refill rolls. The supplier does not say how many bags are on the roll.
On the walk: how it goes in the photos
The photos show the order of things. You take the cap off, pull a bag over the claws, press the button so the claws open, and place them over what you want to pick up. Then the bag comes off with the contents inside and goes in the bin.
With the cap back on, the tool hangs from your wrist by its cord for the rest of the walk.
Occasions
Take it on the morning round, to the park or on a weekend away with the dog. It is also a practical present for someone who has just brought a puppy home.
Care: rinse, dry, cap on
The supplier gives no care instructions. As general practice for a plastic tool you use outdoors: rinse the claws with water when they need it, let the tool dry, and put the cap back on before you store it.
The wow detail: the bags live inside the tool
Most walks start with a search for bags in coat pockets. Here the roll has its own holder inside the picker, so you leave the house with one thing on your wrist.
