The piece: plain, in three quiet colours
Awama lists the dress under three model numbers, one per colour, with the same description. The maker names a loose fit, an elastic waistband, short split sleeves and a boat neckline, and suggests it for everyday wear and for special occasions.
To be clear about two things: this dress has no print, and it is a midi. Earlier text on this page spoke of a floral maxi dress. The photos and the maker's data show a plain dress that ends at the calf.
The supplier calls the colours green, brown and black. In the photos the green is a soft sage and the brown is a light taupe with a pink undertone, which is why our button says 'Taupe'.
Who it's for
For you if you want a dress you can pull on and wear all day without adjusting anything. The waist is elastic, the top is loose and the skirt has room.
The boat neckline sits high and wide, so it shows your collarbones and keeps the chest covered. The split sleeves show a little shoulder when you move. If you like your upper arms fully covered, look closely at the photos first.

The maker does not mention pockets or a zip. In the photos the model's hand rests at hip level, as it would in a side pocket, but we cannot confirm one.
Fabric and feel: rayon with a little nylon
The maker gives 87% rayon and 13% nylon. Rayon, which the Dutch call viscose, is a fibre made from plant cellulose. It is smooth on the skin and hangs supple, and that is what you see in the skirt.
In the photos the fabric has a fine crinkled surface. A texture like that hides small creases, which is welcome in a dress you sit in all day.
Fit and silhouette: loose top, gathered waist, midi length
Size M has a chest of 94 cm, a waist that stretches from 70 to 76 cm and hips of 112 cm. Size L has 100 cm, 76 to 82 cm and 118 cm. Each size is one centimetre longer than the one before.
The elastic waist forgives a lot, so choose mainly by the chest. If you are between sizes and like the loose look in the photos, take the larger one.

Styling: flat in the day, heels at night
The photos show the green with pointed flats in the same shade, the taupe with flat lace-up sandals and the black with heeled sandals. Each of those works.
A belt over the elastic gives the waist more definition. When it gets cooler, a jeans jacket or a short cardigan fits the midi length well. With the black, a blazer makes it right for the office.
Occasions
The maker suggests it for every day and for special occasions. We see it at work, at a family lunch, on holiday and at a summer wedding in the sage green or the taupe.
The black is the one for a dinner or a funeral, where you want something plain and calm.

Rayon is generally weaker when wet, so a gentle cycle and drying on a hanger are kind to it.
