The piece: fitted on top, long below
Awama describes a dress with a fitted cut and a wide belt that shapes the waist. The neckline is a V with subtle gathering at the bust, and there is a slit on the leg so you can move.
In the photos the 'belt' is a wide band sewn into the dress, in the same fabric. The sleeves are short, end at the elbow and stand up a little at the shoulder. The slit sits at the front of one leg.
The supplier's colours are green, brown and black. The green is a soft sage in the photos, and the brown is a taupe with a pink undertone, which is why our button says 'Taupe'.
Who it's for
For you if you want a long dress that still shows your waist. The band and the gathers do the shaping, and the skirt has room to walk.
At 133 to 136 cm it is a long dress. On the model the hem touches the ankle. If you are shorter than average, it may reach the floor in flat shoes.

Fabric and feel: soft rayon with nylon
The maker calls the fabric soft rayon and gives 87% rayon and 13% nylon. Rayon is known in Dutch shops as viscose. It is smooth and hangs with a fluid drape.
In the photos the surface has a fine crinkle. That texture is forgiving after a day of sitting, because small creases disappear into it.
Fit and silhouette: check the waist first
The waistband is fixed, so the waist is the number that matters: 70 cm in S, 74 cm in M, 80 cm in L and 86 cm in XL. The chest goes from 88 cm to 104 cm and the hips from 100 cm to 116 cm.
The maker lists no stretch fibre. If your waist falls between two sizes, take the larger one.

Styling: flats in the day, heels at night
The photos show the sage and the taupe with pointed flats and the black with heeled sandals. Flats keep it relaxed, and heels make the slit do more.
A short jacket that ends at the waistband suits the proportions. Long necklaces sit well in the V.
