This light blue blouse by Nife has no buttons down the front. You pull it over your head, the V-neck falls open under a small stand-up collar, and that is the whole routine. The fabric is 100% viscose, which the maker calls lightweight.

The sleeves roll up and button in place just above the elbow. It comes in sizes 36 to 42 and measures between 66.5 and 69 cm in length.

Fabric and feel: 100% viscose

The blouse is made of 100% viscose. The maker calls the material lightweight and says it stays comfortable through the day. In the photos the surface is matte and the fabric drapes in soft folds from the shoulders.

Viscose creases more easily than most synthetic fabrics. That is the trade you make for the way it hangs. The maker gives no fabric weight and says nothing about how sheer it is. In the photos nothing shows through.

Fit and silhouette: straight with room

The maker calls the cut regular. The table shows what that means here. Size 38 measures 104 cm at the chest and 101 cm at the waist, with a length of 67.5 cm. The waist is almost as wide as the chest, so the blouse falls straight and does not nip in.

Length changes little between sizes: 66.5 cm in 36 and 69 cm in 42. On the model the hem ends at the hip, and the back is a touch longer than the front.

Styling: pale blue next to a strong colour

In the photos the blouse is worn with wide fuchsia trousers, once tucked in and once loose over the waistband. It is a brave pairing and it works, because the blue is so calm.

If fuchsia is a step too far for a Tuesday, navy trousers or white jeans do the job. A pencil skirt in beige makes it office wear. In spring you can wear it loose over cropped trousers with flat sandals. A thin chain in the V is all the jewellery it asks for.

The maker suggests casual and elegant everyday looks. In practice this is a blouse for work, for lunch with a friend and for a birthday on a Sunday afternoon.
