Nife describes a regular cut with a classic collar, long cuffed sleeves and a silver-tone fastening that is practical and decorative at once. The pockets at breast level are decorative; the useful ones are in the side seams. The dress comes with a belt and has no lining.

Fabric and feel: pure cotton
The navy dress is 100% cotton. The maker says it is pleasant to wear and, without a lining, light enough for warmer days.
In the photos the cloth has the look of a light jeans fabric: a dark blue with a slightly uneven surface. Cotton without stretch creases when you sit, and with a shirt dress that is part of its character.

Styling: sandals now, boots later
In the photos the dress is worn with nude platform sandals and the sleeves down. Roll the sleeves to the elbow and open the top snap for a more relaxed look.
In autumn, tall boots disappear under the hem and a chunky cardigan goes on top. You can also swap the fabric belt for one of your own.
Occasions
The maker says it suits everyday and more formal occasions. We agree for the office, a parents' evening and Sunday lunch.
For a black-tie evening it is too casual. That is the only place we would not take it.
