Viscose trousers that feel like loungewear and look pressed
These viscose trousers by Figl have an elastic waist and a drawcord, so they pull on like joggers. A stitched line down the front of each leg does the opposite job: it keeps a neat crease in place all day.
The fabric is 97% viscose with 3% spandex. The leg tapers slightly and ends above the ankle on the model. Three colours are available, in sizes S to XL.

The piece: trousers only
Figl sells these trousers through a fashion wholesaler in Poland. The maker's description is a list: a stitched edge, an adjustable elastic waistband, a decorative tie at the front, legs slightly tapered at the bottom, no pockets.
In every photo the model wears a top in the same colour. It is a separate Figl piece and does not come with the trousers. The three colours are an apricot orange, a fuchsia purple that our button calls Magenta, and a sage green.
Who it's for
For you if you want trousers for work that are kind after lunch. And for you if you like colour: these are not trousers for hiding in.
One thing to know before you order: there are no pockets. If your phone lives in your trouser pocket, plan for a bag.

Fabric and feel: almost all viscose
The composition is 97% viscose and 3% spandex. Viscose is made from cellulose and has a cool, smooth hand and a fluid fall. It takes dye well, which is why these colours look so saturated in the photos.
The fabric drapes and moves. Without the stitched line it would lose its crease within an hour, so the maker fixed the crease with thread. It is a clever answer to a soft cloth.
Fit and silhouette: room at the hip, narrow at the ankle
The maker's table lists a length of 90 cm in S, 90.5 cm in M, 91 cm in L and 91.5 cm in XL. The waist is 72, 76, 80 and 84 cm and stretches from there. The hips are roomy: 104, 108, 112 and 116 cm.
A fourth column is labelled inseam and holds 27 to 28.5 cm. That cannot be the inside leg of trousers this long. It is most likely the rise, the distance from the crotch seam to the waistband, and we show it in the table with that caution. On the model the hem ends a few centimetres above the ankle.

Styling: head to toe, or broken up
The photos show the trousers with a top in the same colour, which reads as a jumpsuit. If that is too much colour for you, break it up. The sage green with a white T-shirt and trainers. The apricot with a cream knit. The fuchsia purple with a navy blazer.
Shoes can be flat. The cropped, tapered leg shows the ankle, so sandals, loafers and low trainers all work.
Occasions
These are trousers for the office in summer, for a long travel day and for a dinner where you want to be comfortable. The stitched crease keeps them looking tidy when you have been sitting for hours.
Care: follow the label
The maker's data has no care instructions, so go by the sewn-in label. Viscose is weaker when wet and can shrink in heat. It usually asks for a cool, gentle wash and for drying on a hanger. Read the label before the first wash.
The wow detail: a crease that stays
Look at the line down the front of each leg. It is sewn, not pressed. It catches the light as a thin ridge and makes soft pull-on trousers look tailored. You never have to press it back in.
