A wall-mounted kitchen roll holder for foil and cling film too

This kitchen roll holder hangs on the wall and takes three rolls at once: one kitchen roll on the bar and two rolls of foil or cling film in the closed compartments above it. Each compartment has its own cutter, and there is a shelf on top.

The holder is plastic and measures about 39 x 10 x 24 cm, according to the supplier. Screws, wall plugs and adhesive come with it. The rolls do not.

From top to bottom you get a flat shelf, two roll compartments and a bar. The compartments close around the roll, and the sheet comes out through a slot at the front. A slider runs along each slot and cuts the sheet off.

The supplier describes two kinds of cutter: a sliding round cutter for foil and baking paper, and a triangle cutter for cling film. We sell the holder without a brand, because the supplier data names no maker.

Materials and build: plastic, in two tones

The supplier states plastic and gives no further detail. In the photos the body is white. On the grey and khaki versions the two compartments carry the colour, and on the white version only the slider knobs are beige.

The supplier gives no maximum load for the shelf. We would keep it to light things such as a few spice jars.

Size and dimensions: about 39 cm wide

The supplier gives about 39 x 10 x 24 cm. Going by the photos, 39 cm is the width along the wall, 24 cm the height and 10 cm the depth.

A maximum roll width is not stated. The rolls sit inside the 39 cm, so check the width of the foil and cling film you usually buy before you order. Leave room under the holder as well, because the kitchen roll hangs below the bar.

Where to hang it

The supplier's photos show it on a tiled wall above the worktop, and that is where it makes most sense: next to the place where you wrap leftovers. Grey and khaki add a band of colour. White disappears against white tiles.

When it earns its place

You notice it on a baking day, when you need baking paper with flour on your hands, and on the evening you pack lunch boxes for the week. It is also a practical gift for a first kitchen.

Mounting and care

According to the supplier you screw the holder to the wall or stick it on, and the screws, wall plugs and adhesive are in the box. The supplier text also mentions suction, but we would not rely on that. For a loaded shelf and three rolls, we would choose the screws.

There are no care instructions. Wiping it with a damp cloth is the usual way to clean kitchen plastic. Keep your fingers away from the cutters when you do.

Anyone who has fought with cling film knows the problem: the edge of the box tears the film everywhere except where you want it. Here you pull out the length you need and slide the cutter across. The roll stays in its compartment.
