These are cargo sweatpants for days when you want soft trousers that still look like an outfit. Factory Price makes them in navy blue, in 80% cotton with 20% polyester. The waist is high and elastic, the legs are straight and there is a flap pocket on each thigh.

They come in one size. The maker gives a length of 98 cm and a waistband that stretches from 70 to 116 cm.

The supplier files model 222503 as tracksuit trousers and describes them as plain, high-waisted and straight in the leg, with cargo pockets on the sides. We sell one colour, navy blue.

The photos add a few things. The leg is wide from the hip down and falls over the shoe on the model. Besides the two cargo pockets there is a pocket at each hip. The waistband is broad and gathered, and it sits at the waist.

In the photos the model wears a cropped navy sweatshirt with a Malibu print. That sweatshirt is a different item and is not part of this page.

Who they're for

For you if you work from home a few days a week and want trousers you can also wear to the shop without changing. The cargo pockets and the straight leg take them a step away from the classic grey jogger.

One size has limits. With hips of 104 cm in the table and a waistband that goes up to 116 cm there is room, but the length is fixed at 98 cm. If you are tall, expect them to end at the ankle. If you are small, they will pool over your shoes as they do on the model.

The maker does not mention a drawcord and we can't see one in the photos.

Fabric and feel: mostly cotton

The fabric is 80% cotton and 20% polyester, a common blend for sweatpants. The supplier does not say whether the inside is brushed or looped, and gives no fabric weight, so we won't guess how warm they are.

In the photos the fabric has some body. The legs hang straight and the pocket flaps lie flat.

Fit and silhouette: high waist, wide straight leg

The maker's table has one row. Length 98 cm, hips 104 cm, and a waist of 70-116 cm, which is the range of the elastic band from relaxed to stretched.

The table also gives an inseam of 29 cm. That can't be the inside leg of trousers that are 98 cm long. It is probably the rise, the distance from the crotch seam to the waistband, but the supplier does not say so. We mention it so you know the number exists and why it is not in our table.

Compare the 98 cm with a pair of trousers you own, measured along the outside seam from waistband to hem.

Styling: one colour from top to bottom, or a coat over it

The photos show two ways to wear them. The first is navy on navy, with a cropped sweatshirt in the same colour so the high waistband stays in view. The second adds a long grey coat over the same set, and suddenly it is an outfit for the street.

The supplier suggests a hoodie, a t-shirt and sneakers. We would add a fitted white t-shirt tucked in and a short jacket, because a wide leg looks better when the top half is small.

When to wear them

Wear them at home, on a travel day, for the school run or for a slow Sunday walk. The supplier calls them trousers for everyday wear and we see no reason to argue.

Nothing in the data says they are made for sport, so we would treat them as leisure trousers.

Care: follow the label

The maker's data has no care instructions, so go by the label sewn into the trousers.

A general habit for dark cotton: wash it inside out with similar colours, because navy can lose a little dye in the first washes.

The wow detail: cargo pockets on a sweatpant

The flap pockets on the thighs change what these trousers are. Without them you have a plain navy jogger. With them the leg gets a line halfway down, the way cargo trousers have, while the fabric stays soft. And they hold a phone.
