These black knee-high boots from Solea are made of faux leather. A gold-tone zip runs down the outside as decoration, and two buckle straps sit at the top and at the ankle.
The shaft is 34 cm high, the heel 5 cm, and there is a low platform under the forefoot. You get in through a full zip on the inside. Sizes run from 36 to 41.

The piece: a tall boot with biker details
Solea describes knee-high boots in vegan leather for colder days. The maker lists a decorative gold zip and gold details on the outside, a full zip on the inside, a round toe, a lightly insulated interior, a stable 5 cm heel with a low platform and a 34 cm shaft.
A note on words. The gold is a colour. Nothing in the data says the zip or the buckles are made of gold, so we call them gold-tone. And 'vegan leather' means faux leather: the attribute list says artificial leather.
Our old product type called these thigh-high boots. With a 34 cm shaft they end below the knee, as the photos show.
Who it's for
For you if you want a tall black boot with some attitude that you can still walk in all day. A 5 cm block heel on a platform feels lower than it sounds.
They also suit you if you avoid animal leather. One thing we cannot tell you is the width of the shaft, because the maker does not give it. If you have fuller calves, ask us before you order and we will ask the supplier.

Materials and build: faux leather, lightly insulated
The upper is faux leather and the footbed is fabric. In the photos the surface is smooth with a soft sheen. The maker says the inside is delicately insulated for autumn and winter. How warm that is in practice we cannot measure from here, so think of them as lined boots for cold days and add a thick sock for frost.
The supplier's data does not say what the sole is made of. In the photos it is thick, with a deep tread.
Size and dimensions: insole length per size
The maker gives the insole length for each size: 23.5 cm for 36, 24 cm for 37, 24.5 cm for 38, 25 cm for 39, 25.5 cm for 40 and 26 cm for 41.
Stand on a sheet of paper, mark your heel and your longest toe and measure the distance. Add about half a centimetre of room and pick the size that matches. The shaft is 34 cm high in every size.

Styling: with tights, skirts and skinny jeans
The photos show the boots with patterned tights and a short hem. That is the look they were made for: a knit dress or a mini skirt, tights and a long coat.
Narrow jeans or leggings tucked into the shaft work as well. The gold-tone zip likes company, so a belt buckle or a bag chain in the same tone ties it together.
Occasions
These are everyday boots for autumn and winter: the commute, a day in town, a concert. The maker says they go with both everyday and dressier outfits, and in black they do.
Care: wipe clean
The maker's data has no care instructions. Follow any instructions that come in the box.
Faux leather is generally cleaned with a damp cloth and left to dry away from a heater. Stuff the shafts with paper so they keep their shape in the cupboard.
The wow detail: two zips, one for show
The zip you see is not the zip you use. The gold-tone one on the outside is decoration, a bright line from the top buckle down to the ankle. The working zip is on the inside of the leg, out of sight.
