These platform sneakers from Big Star stand on a thick sole that is the same height from toe to heel. You gain height and keep a flat foot, which is the whole appeal of a platform.
The upper is faux leather, the lacing is classic and the maker describes the insole as soft. There are four colourways, two of them with animal-print panels, in sizes 36 to 41.

The piece: Big Star, sold through Step In Style
The wholesaler lists these shoes under Step In Style and names Big Star as the brand in the description. The photos show a small brand label on the side and on the tongue.
The four options look quite different. The black pair has grey animal-print panels along the side. The white pair is plain with gold-tone accents. The brown pair mixes beige, brown and leopard print. The fourth, "Beige And Leopard" in our menu, is white and beige with leopard-print panels; the maker lists it as white.
Who they're for
For you if you want a few centimetres without a heel. A platform lifts you and keeps your foot level, so you walk as you would in any trainer.
They are also for you if plain white sneakers bore you. The leopard and animal-print panels are small enough to wear daily and visible enough to count as a detail.

The maker gives no platform height and no material list for the sole and lining. We don't estimate heights from photos.
Materials and build: faux leather
The upper is faux leather. The maker uses a marketing term for it that we don't repeat; what it means is a synthetic material with a smooth surface and a leather look.
In the photos the surface is smooth with a slight grain, and the printed panels have a soft, brushed look. The sole appears to be one moulded piece. That is as far as the pictures go.
Size and fit: check the insole steps
The maker gives the insole length per size, and the steps are uneven. From 36 to 37 it is half a centimetre, 23.5 to 24 cm. From 37 to 38 it is a full centimetre, to 25 cm. Size 41 jumps a full centimetre again, from 26 to 27 cm.
So measure the insole of a sneaker that fits you and match the number, not the size label. Laces let you tighten the fit over the instep.

Styling: show the ankle
The model wears them with cropped trousers and bare ankles. A thick sole needs that bit of space above it, otherwise the leg looks heavy.
Wide-leg jeans that just touch the top of the shoe also work, as do midi skirts and dresses. Pick up the print in one other piece at most: a leopard scarf with the leopard pair is enough.
Occasions
The supplier suggests everyday outfits. Think of work in a casual office, shopping, a day trip, a concert where you want a little extra height in the crowd.
Care: wipe, do not soak
The maker's data has no care instructions. If the box or the shoe has a care symbol, follow that first.
For smooth synthetic uppers in general, a damp cloth is the usual way to clean them. Let them dry at room temperature and keep them away from a heater.
The wow detail: print on the side panels
On three of the four pairs a strip of animal print runs along the side and around the heel. It is a narrow band on a calm shoe, so it reads as an accent and not as a leopard sneaker. The white pair swaps the print for a gold-tone line.
