These clog slippers from Step in Style are made for the sofa months. The upper has a faux suede look, the inside is lined with soft fur, and a strap with a buckle crosses the instep. On the toe sits a handful of charms, different for each colour.

You slide in from the back, since the heel is open. They come in black, brown and beige, in EU sizes 36 to 41.

The maker describes women's slippers for relaxing at home on colder days, with soft fur inside, decorations on top and a buckle strap that is both decoration and a way to improve the fit.

Each colour has its own theme in the photos. The black pair carries stars and gem-like stones with a silver-tone buckle. The brown pair is the funny one, with cookie faces with a red nose, little chocolate bars and a gold-tone coin. The beige pair has blue fabric hearts and gold-tone stars.

The fur around the opening is black on the black pair and cream on the other two.

Who they're for

For you if your feet are cold from October and plain slippers bore you. They are also an easy present: the maker suggests them as a gift, and the brown pair with the cookies looks made for December.

If you prefer your slippers quiet, the black pair is the calmest of the three, although it still sparkles.

The maker says fur and does not say what it is made of. We can't tell you from the data whether it is a synthetic pile, so ask us if you need to know. The sole material is not stated either.

Materials and build: soft outside, softer inside

The upper has the matte nap of suede. The maker's term for it points to a faux version, so we call it faux suede. Inside, the maker describes soft fur, and in the photos it rolls over the edge as a collar.

The maker says the fur gives warmth and comfort. That is the maker's description of the lining. The data gives no thermal rating, and we have not tested them.

Size and fit: go by the insole

The maker's table gives the insole length per size: 22.5 cm for 36, 23 cm for 37, 23.5 cm for 38, 24 cm for 39, 24.5 cm for 40 and 25 cm for 41. That is half a centimetre per size.

These insoles are on the short side for the sizes, and a thick lining takes up room as well. Measure your foot, add a few millimetres and pick the size whose insole matches. If you fall between two sizes, the larger one is the safer choice in a lined slipper. The buckle strap is there to help with the fit across the instep.

Styling: yes, for slippers

In the photos they are worn with bare legs and an anklet, on a cream sofa with Christmas cushions. At home that translates to thick socks, leggings and a big knit.

Match the pair to your lounge clothes if you care about such things. Black goes with everything. The brown pair wants cream and camel, and the beige pair looks sweet with light blue pyjamas.

When to wear them

The maker made them for relaxing at home, and that is where we would keep them: mornings with coffee, working from home, film nights, Christmas Day in pyjamas.

They look like outdoor clogs, but nothing in the data says the sole is meant for the street, and wet pavements and a fur lining are a poor match.

Care

The supplier gives no care instructions. With charms on the toe and a fur lining, we would keep them out of the washing machine. Brush the upper with a soft dry brush and air the lining now and then.

The wow detail: the charms

Somebody had fun designing these. The cookie on the brown pair has eyes and a red nose, and next to it sits a tiny chocolate bar. The black pair looks like a night sky. The beige pair has two hearts cut from blue fabric. You will look down at your feet more often than usual.
