The piece: Nife model 184596
Nife describes a trapeze skirt made of imitation leather material, fastened at the side with a zip. The maker is clearly pleased with it and opens the description by saying they have not had a skirt like this before.
It comes in black only. The maker's table runs from size 36 to 44. Not every size is in stock at the supplier at the moment, and the size buttons show which are.
Who it's for
For you if you like the look of a leather skirt and find the short, tight versions hard to wear. An A-line to below the knee is easier: it works at the office, it covers the top of your boots, and you can sit down in it.
It is also for people who prefer not to wear animal leather.

Material and feel: viscose with a polyurethane face
The composition is 55% viscose and 45% polyurethane. That is how most faux leather is built: a textile base, here viscose, with a polyurethane layer that gives the leather look.
In the photos the surface has a soft sheen and a fine grain, and the skirt holds its A-shape without looking stiff. There is no stretch fibre in the mix. The supplier lists the weight at 450 grams.
Fit and silhouette: pick by the waist
The waist is 70 cm in size 36, 74 cm in 38, 78 cm in 40, 82 cm in 42 and 86 cm in 44. The hips are 94 to 110 cm. Since the material does not stretch, choose the size whose waist is at or just above your own measurement.
Length is 72 cm in 36 and 38, 73 cm in 40 and 42, and 74 cm in 44. On the model that lands below the knee, over the top of her boots.

Styling: boots and something soft on top
The maker suggests boots, high boots and thick sweaters. The photos show a different take: a crisp shirt tucked in, light blue or rust, with black knee-high boots. Both are right.
The idea is contrast. A smooth, slightly shiny skirt looks good next to something matte and soft, such as a chunky knit, a brushed sweater or a washed shirt. Keep the top tucked or cropped so the waistband shows. With tights and loafers it becomes a quieter office outfit.
Occasions
The maker places it in autumn. It suits the office, dinners, gallery openings and Sunday lunches from September to March. With a glossy blouse and heels it can go out in the evening.
Care: follow the label
The maker's data has no washing instructions, so follow the label sewn into the skirt. With faux leather this matters, because heat can damage the polyurethane layer.
In general, wipe marks off with a damp cloth, keep the skirt away from radiators and hot irons, and hang it by the waistband so it does not crease.
The wow detail: seams that shape the flare
Faux leather does not drape like cloth, so the shape has to be built with seams. Here vertical panels run from the waistband down, and a horizontal seam crosses the skirt low on the leg. Together they turn a flat material into a clean A-line. On a black surface with a soft sheen, those lines catch the light and become the decoration.
