Fabric and feel: polyester with 5% spandex

The composition is 95% polyester and 5% spandex. The maker does not name the weave or the weight, so we won't either. What the photos show is a smooth, matte fabric with enough body to hold the A-line away from the legs instead of collapsing against them.

The spandex gives a little stretch, which you will notice most in the waistband when you sit down.

Fit and silhouette: the waist decides your size

With an A-line skirt only one measurement really matters, and that is the waist. The maker lists 58 cm for XS, 70 cm for M, 82 cm for XL and 94 cm for XXXL, in steps of 6 cm. Hips are not in the table because the skirt is wide there anyway.

Measure yourself where you want the band to sit, which is a little above your waist, and pick the size closest to that number. Every size is 73 cm long.

Styling: tuck something in

The model wears it with a fitted white long-sleeve top tucked in and black pointed pumps. That is the simplest way to wear a high waist: keep the top half close to the body so the band stays visible.

For the office, try a cream blouse and a short blazer that ends at the waistband. On a cold day, swap the pumps for black knee boots and add a fine roll-neck. Teal sits well next to camel and off-white, and gold-tone jewellery picks up the colour of the zip.

Occasions

We see this as a skirt for working days and for the dinner after. The length below the knee makes it right for a meeting or a presentation, and the colour keeps it from looking like a uniform.
