A floral ruffle mini dress with a tie at the bust

This short, fitted dress has ruffles on the straps and the hem, a sweetheart neckline and a little tie at the centre of the bust. The body is ruched, so the fabric gathers in soft folds down the front.

There are three prints: white with red flowers, rust red with small white flowers, and navy with a tan print. The supplier lists 100% polyester, in sizes M to XL.

For a small dress it has plenty of detail. The straps are wide ruffles that stand up on the shoulder. A narrow frill edges the neckline. Two ties knot into a bow between the cups and leave a small keyhole on each side. The hem ends in another ruffle that dips a little at one side.

We sell it without a brand, because the supplier data names no maker.

For you if you want a playful dress for warm evenings and holidays, and you like a fitted shape. It is short: the hem sits at the upper thigh on the models.

It comes in M, L and XL only. There is no S in our shop, so look at the measurements if you are small.

The supplier calls the navy print "black". In the photos it is clearly navy with a tan pattern, so that is what we call it. The jewellery and the bag are props.

Fabric and feel: light printed polyester

The supplier lists polyester, which we give as 100% polyester. In the photos it is a thin, smooth fabric that gathers easily, which is what makes the ruching work. Polyester dries fast and packs small. The supplier does not mention stretch or a lining.

Fit and silhouette: fitted and short

Bust and hip are the same number in each size: 96 cm in M, 100 cm in L and 104 cm in XL. Waist is 74, 78 or 82 cm. The supplier asks you to allow 1-3 cm difference.

Length is 61 to 63 cm, which is short. If you are tall, expect it to sit high on the thigh. The ruching gives some room over the stomach, so the dress forgives a big lunch.

Styling: sandals by day, heels at night

The supplier styled it with a chain necklace, bracelets and a small bag. For daytime, flat sandals and a straw bag keep it relaxed. At night, block heels and a cropped jacket in a plain colour calm the print down.

Wear it on holiday, to drinks on a terrace, a summer birthday or a festival day.

Care: check the label first

The supplier gives no care instructions, so follow the label sewn into the dress. As general practice for thin printed polyester: wash cool and inside out, untie the bow first, and hang it to dry. The ruffles fall back into shape as they dry.
