This facial mist sprayer is a slim white wand, 16.5 cm tall. You fill the small tank, press the button and it sprays a fine mist on your face. It is made for the moments when your skin feels dry: in a heated office, on a plane or after a day in the sun.

The tank holds 20 ml and the battery is 500 mAh, according to the supplier. There is one spray mode.

The piece: a white wand with silver-tone bands

The body is white plastic with two silver-tone bands and the name ZHUOCHEN printed down the side. The mist comes out of a round nozzle near the top, and a clear tank lifts off above it for filling.

The supplier's parameter sheet names the brand as Zhuochen and the model as C-701. That is also the maker name in our shop.

Who it's for

For you if you like a quick mist of water during the day and find spray cans wasteful or too big for your bag. At 160 g it is about as heavy as a phone.

The supplier does not say which charging port it has or whether a cable is included. The old version of this page said USB; we could not find a source for that, so we took it out. Ask us if you need to know.

Materials and build: plastic body, small tank

The housing is plastic. The tank is small, 20 ml, which keeps the device slim but means you refill it often. The supplier's photos show water and toner going in. We would stick to clean water or a thin, watery toner; oils and thick lotions tend to clog fine nozzles.

Size and weight

The sprayer is 16.5 cm tall and about 4 cm across, roughly the size of a mascara that went to the gym. It weighs 160 g. It stands upright on its flat base, and fits in a handbag or a desk drawer.

How to use it

Lift off the tank, fill it and click it back. Hold the nozzle a hand's width from your face, close your eyes and press the button. Let the mist settle and pat off any drops. Empty the tank at the end of the day so water does not stand in it.

Occasions

Keep it on your desk in winter, take it on a long flight or use it on a hot afternoon. It is a small gift for someone who likes skincare gadgets.

Care: keep the tank clean

The supplier gives no care instructions. As general practice for mist devices: use fresh water each time, rinse the tank regularly and let it dry open. Wipe the body with a dry cloth and keep the charging contacts away from water.

The wow detail: the tank lifts off

Many small misters have a tiny filling hole you need a pipette for. Here the whole tank comes off, so you can fill it under the tap and rinse it properly. That is what makes it easy to keep clean.
