Fabric and feel: 100% ramie, as declared
The supplier declares the fabric as 100% ramie. Ramie is a plant fibre. We have no photo of the sewn-in label, so the percentage is the supplier's word, and the label in the shirt has the final say.
The close-up photos show uneven, slubby threads in the weave, a texture you may know from linen. The supplier also makes claims about how cool the shirt wears. We cannot test those, so we leave them out.
Fit and silhouette: regular, hip length
The supplier calls the fit regular. Size S is 66 cm long with a bust of 96 cm, M is 68 cm long with 100 cm, and L is 70 cm long with 104 cm. The sleeve runs from 55.5 cm in S to 57.5 cm in L.
On the model the shirt hangs loose and the hem covers the hips. Compare the bust measurement with a shirt you already own, and allow 1-3 cm difference, as the supplier measured by hand.

Styling: untucked over wide trousers
In the photos the shirt is worn untucked over cream wide-leg trousers, with the sleeves pushed up and the top button open. It is a relaxed combination, and the cream in the trousers picks up the cream lines in the check.
Worn open over a white tee it becomes a light extra layer. With black trousers the check gets more contrast.
Occasions
Wear it to work on a day without meetings, or on a Saturday in town. It also packs easily for a city trip, as a shirt on its own during the day and as a layer over a top in the evening.
Care: cold wash, line dry, warm iron
The supplier's instructions: wash cold on a gentle cycle or by hand, line dry in the shade, iron warm while slightly damp, do not bleach or tumble dry. Check the sewn-in label when the shirt arrives and follow it where it differs.
The wow detail: the pleat at the back
Turn around and there is a yoke across the shoulders with a pleat falling from its centre. It is a shirtmaker's detail that you mostly notice from behind, and it lets the check break and fold in a nice way when you move.
