This plaid short sleeve shirt is the kind you put on over a T-shirt in May and take off again in September. It has a collar, buttons down the front and a pocket on the chest.
The fabric is 95% cotton and 5% spandex. It comes in a red check and a coffee brown check, in six sizes from M to 4XL.

The piece: a check shirt by UnyieldingMan
The shirt is sold under the label UnyieldingMan. The supplier describes it as a casual plaid shirt, buttoned and pocketed, and as imported.
In the photos the red version mixes red, cream and a dark line; the coffee version is dark brown with cream. Both have a single patch pocket on the chest and a small sewn-on label near the hem. The back has a yoke across the shoulders and the hem is curved, so you can wear it out.
Who it's for
For you if you want a summer shirt that does not need thinking about. A check hides creases and the odd drip of ice cream, and it goes with every pair of jeans you own.
It is also for taller and broader men. The sizes start at M and run to 4XL, with a chest of 126 cm in the largest.

Fabric and feel: cotton with a little spandex
The supplier lists 95% cotton and 5% spandex, and in the same breath says no stretch. Those two do not quite agree. We read it as a cotton shirt fabric with very little give, and we would choose the size as if it had none.
There is no fabric weight in the supplier's data. The photos show a woven check with a matte surface.
Fit and silhouette: straight and easy
Size M measures 105.9 cm at the chest and 71.1 cm in length, with a sleeve of 23.1 cm. Each size adds about four centimetres at the chest and one in length, up to 126 cm and 75.9 cm in 4XL.
The supplier calls the chest column "bust". Compare it with a shirt you like, measured around the chest. Worn open over a tee, as in the photos, a little extra room does no harm.

Styling: open or closed
The photos show it open over a white T-shirt with a thin chain, and that is how most people will wear it. Buttoned up with chino shorts it is tidy enough for a family lunch.
The red check wants plain company: blue jeans, a white or grey tee. The coffee brown one is quieter and works with black jeans and with beige.
Occasions
Wear it to a barbecue, a festival, a weekend away, or on a Friday at the office when the dress code loosens. It is a casual shirt. Under a suit it has no business.
Care: machine wash cold
The supplier's care instructions: machine wash cold, tumble dry low. Take it out of the dryer while it is still slightly damp and hang it on a hanger, and you can often skip ironing. That tip is ours.
The wow detail: the little label at the hem
Low on the front, next to the last buttons, sits a small sewn-on label. It does nothing useful. It is simply a workwear touch that makes a plain check shirt look like someone thought about it.
