This off-shoulder ribbed sweater by Italy Moda leaves both shoulders bare and frames them with a wide band that folds over like a collar. The sleeves are long, the knit is fine and ribbed, and a shiny thread runs through it for a slight glow.

The piece: one sweater, five colours
Italy Moda is a womenswear label we buy through a fashion wholesaler in Poland. Each colour has its own model number. The descriptions vary by a few words and say the same things: a sweater for everyday wear and work, in a ribbed, textured blend of viscose and elastane, with long sleeves, a neckline that exposes the shoulders and a shiny thread on the surface.
A note on colour names. The supplier calls two of the shades beige. In the photos one is an off-white, which our colour button calls White, and the other is a grey-brown, which our button calls Taupe.
Who it's for
For you if you like to show your shoulders and collarbones and keep the rest covered. Long sleeves and a hip-length body make this a warm-looking piece with one bare line across the top.
You will need a strapless bra or one with clear straps. And if you raise your arms a lot during the day, know that an off-shoulder band tends to ride up and wants a tug now and then.

Fabric and feel: fine viscose rib with a glint
The maker lists 95% viscose and 5% spandex. That makes this a thin, drapey knit, closer to a long-sleeved top than to a chunky jumper. The supplier says the blend is comfortable and fits well.
The shiny thread is subtle in the photos. You see it as a soft sparkle in the green and the taupe when the light catches the ribs. In black it is quieter still.
Fit and silhouette: close and stretchy
There is one size. The maker's table gives a total length of 62 cm and a chest of 90 cm, the same for every colour. A rib knit with spandex stretches well beyond its resting width, so 90 cm is where it starts.
In the photos the sweater follows the body from the band down to the hips and the sleeves fit close to the arm. The more it has to stretch, the more open the ribs become and the more sheer the knit can look, so if you are well above a 90 cm chest, expect a tighter and slightly more transparent fit.

Styling: bare shoulders, simple bottom half
In the photos the green is worn with wide black jeans, the off-white and the black with a boucle mini skirt, and the taupe and grey with slim black trousers. All of those work because the bottom half is plain.
Wear your hair up or to one side to show the neckline. A short necklace or none at all suits it better than a long one. Under a blazer the fold-over band looks like a wide collar, which makes the sweater office-proof in a second.
Occasions
The supplier suggests everyday wear and work. We would add a dinner, a date and the holiday season, when a top with a little shine and bare shoulders does a lot of the dressing up for you.

The maker's data we receive has no care instructions, so please go by the label sewn into the sweater.
Fine viscose knits keep their shape longer when you dry them flat instead of on a hanger, because a wet knit stretches under its own weight.
The wow detail: the fold-over band
The band around the shoulders is wide, and it is folded double. It sits like a soft shawl collar that has slipped down, and it gives the neckline a clean horizontal line from arm to arm. From the back it is just as neat, which you do not always get with an off-shoulder top.
