Description
A black collarless blazer that closes with one button
Take the collar and the lapels off a blazer and what is left is a clean V and a clear waist. That is this black collarless blazer by Venaton: slim, straight, with a single gold-tone button.
The fabric is 65% polyester and 35% viscose. The jacket is 68.5 to 70 cm long depending on size and ends at the hip. Sizes run from S to XL.

The piece: model 77170 by Venaton
Venaton sells this jacket through a fashion wholesaler in Poland. The maker's description is one sentence: a slim-fit jacket with a single button closure and a straight cut, for many occasions.
The photos fill in the rest. The front edges run in one line from the neck to the button, and below it they curve apart. Two narrow pockets sit at the hip. Black is the colour you can order.
Who it's for
For you if classic blazers feel stiff around your neck. Without a collar there is nothing to sit against a shirt collar or a scarf, so layering is easy.
It also suits you if you want a jacket that marks the waist. The single button sits exactly there.
Closer look: what the maker states and what the photos show
- Slim fit, straight cut (maker's data)
- Single button closure (maker's data)
- No collar and no lapels; V-shaped front (photos)
- Gold-tone button at the waist (photos)
- Front edges curve apart below the button (photos)
- Two narrow pockets with a small gold-tone detail (photos)
- Ends at the hip; 68.5 to 70 cm long (photos and size table)
The maker does not say whether the jacket is lined or whether the pockets open. Ask us before you order if you need to know.
Fabric and feel: polyester and viscose
The composition is 65% polyester and 35% viscose, a common blend for tailored jackets. Polyester keeps the shape and resists creasing. Viscose softens the hand and lets the cloth fall.
In the photos the fabric is smooth and matte, with enough body to hold a sharp front edge. No stretch fibre is listed, so the fit depends on choosing the right size.
Fit and silhouette: slim, to the hip
The maker's table lists a chest of 92 cm for S, 96 cm for M, 100 cm for L and 104 cm for XL, with a length of 68.5, 69, 69.5 and 70 cm. The table does not say whether these are garment or body measurements.
The maker calls the fit slim. Lay a blazer you like flat, measure across the chest under the arms, double it and compare. If you plan to wear the jacket over a jumper, or you are between sizes, the larger size gives you room to button it.
Size chart (cm)
| Size | Total length | Chest |
|---|---|---|
| S | 68.5 | 92 |
| M | 69 | 96 |
| L | 69.5 | 100 |
| XL | 70 | 104 |

Styling: white underneath
The photos show the black jacket over a white top with white trousers and black loafers. Black on white is the strongest way to wear it, because the V of the front stands out.
With dark jeans and heels it becomes a jacket for dinner. Over a dress it replaces a cardigan. A long necklace or a light scarf fills the open neckline well, since no collar competes with it.
Occasions
The maker says many occasions. The obvious ones are the office, a job interview and a presentation. It also works for a dinner or a christening, anywhere a black jacket makes the outfit look finished.
Care: follow the label
The maker's data has no care instructions, so go by the sewn-in label. Tailored jackets in general keep their shape longest on a shaped hanger, with the button undone.
The wow detail: the curve below the button
Above the button the front is a straight V. Below it the two edges swing away from each other in a soft curve. That cutaway shape shows a triangle of whatever you wear underneath and keeps a straight-cut jacket from looking boxy.
