These mesh sneakers have the shape people call barefoot: a flat rubber sole moulded with five toe pads and a wide, rounded front. You pull them on, slide the toggle on the elastic laces and you are set.
The supplier lists mesh and rubber as materials and says they run true to size. Sizes go from 35 to 42, in four colours.

The piece: what is fact and what is our word
The sneakers are sold under the label Pulse Runners. The supplier's own name for them is long and plain: elastic lock laces, mesh, contrast, breathable, athletic. It lists a flat heel, mesh and rubber, and no box.
Barefoot is our word for what the photos show. The supplier does not use it and gives no sole thickness, so we make no claim about how thin the sole is or what it does for your feet. What you can see: a sole shaped like a footprint, a roomy front and an upper made of open mesh with a pattern of crossing lines.
Who it's for
For you if you like a light, flat shoe for the gym, a walk or pottering around on holiday, and you want your toes to have room.
If you have never worn a flat, flexible sole before, give yourself time to get used to it. That is our advice, and it is general, not something the supplier says.

Materials and build: mesh on rubber
Mesh and rubber are the two materials the supplier names. Mesh is an open-knit textile that lets air through, which is why the supplier calls the shoe breathable. The supplier does not say what fibre the mesh is made of or what the insole is.
There is no weight in the data. In the photos the shoe looks light, with little structure around the heel.
Size and fit: order your usual size
The supplier says the sneakers run true to size. Its chart links each size to a foot length: 22.4 cm for 35, 23.4 cm for 37, 24.4 cm for 39 and 25.9 cm for 42.
Measure your foot from heel to longest toe, standing, and pick the size at or just above that length. The elastic laces take up the rest.

Styling: sporty and simple
The photos show them with leggings in a gym, which is where they look most at home. With joggers or shorts they work for errands and travel days.
White with lilac is the freshest of the four. Black with orange hides dirt, and khaki is the one that passes with casual trousers.
Occasions
Wear them for gym sessions, walks, yoga class, camping or as a second pair in your holiday bag. The supplier makes no statement about use in water, so we do not either.
Care: no instructions from the supplier
The supplier gives no care instructions. Our own advice for mesh shoes: brush off dry dirt, wipe with a damp cloth and let them dry in the air, away from a heater.
The wow detail: the footprint sole
Turn the shoe over and the sole looks like a footprint, with a pad for each toe in a contrast colour. It is the detail that makes people ask what you are wearing.
