This is the button cardigan you pull on without thinking: a V-neck, big buttons, two pockets for your hands. Awama knits it in a soft blend with 10% wool and sews it in Poland.
It is 65 cm long and wide on purpose, with a chest of 128 cm in S/M and 138 cm in L/XL. You can choose from brown and two greys.

The piece: a basic cut, said plainly
Awama describes it as a buttoned cardigan with wool in a basic cut, for women who like simplicity, softness and a garment that does its job. We like that the maker does not oversell it.
Three model numbers sit behind this page, one for each colour: 220853 in brown, 220854 and 220855 in grey. The maker calls both greys simply grey. In the photos one is a light grey and the other a dark charcoal grey, so look at the picture of the colour button you pick.
Who it's for
For you if you are cold at your desk from October to March. It also works if you want one knit that goes over a T-shirt at home and over a shirt at work; the maker places it between casual and smart casual.
The cut is oversized. If you like your knits close to the body, this is the wrong cardigan, even in S/M.

Fabric and feel: acrylic knit with 10% wool
The composition is 75% acrylic, 15% nylon and 10% wool. So this is mostly a synthetic knit with wool added, and we say it that way because the maker's phrase 'with wool' could make you expect more.
The maker calls the knit soft and says it wraps and warms in autumn and winter. In the photos the stitches are easy to see and the surface has small flecks of lighter and darker yarn, which keeps the plain colours from looking flat.
Fit and silhouette: wide, 65 cm long
Both sizes are 65 cm long. The difference is in the width: 128 cm around the chest in S/M and 138 cm in L/XL. Those are large numbers, and the photos confirm them. The shoulders drop, the sleeves are wide and the body hangs straight to below the hip.
Choose by how much room you want. If you are between the two, S/M will still be loose. Take L/XL when you plan to wear a thick jumper underneath or simply like a lot of knit around you.

Styling: over almost anything
The model wears the brown one over a beige V-neck top and beige wide trousers, tone on tone. It looks calm and put together, and you can copy it with what you own.
The greys are shown with light, washed jeans. Add white trainers for the weekend or ankle boots for work. Worn closed, the V-neck leaves room for a shirt collar or a thin roll-neck.
One tip from us: with a cardigan this wide, keep the trousers or the skirt slim or straight.
Occasions
Wear it for working from home, for the school run and for the office on days without meetings. The maker sees it move from casual to smart casual, and with a shirt underneath it does.

Care: follow the label
The maker's data has no care instructions, so follow the label sewn into the cardigan.
Chunky knits keep their shape longer when you dry them flat and fold them instead of hanging them. A hanger can pull the shoulders out of a heavy cardigan.
The wow detail: pockets where your hands land
The two patch pockets sit low, just above the ribbed hem. In half of the photos the model has a hand in one, and you will too. They are knitted in the same stitch as the body, so you see them only when you use them.
