The composition is 80% viscose and 20% linen. We say that precisely because the older page called these linen trousers, and they are mostly viscose. The supplier describes the blend as breathable and made for warmer days.

Viscose gives the legs their drape, so they swing when you walk. The linen adds a drier, slightly textured hand. Blends like this crease, and here that is part of the look: the fabric already has a fine crinkle in the photos.

Fit and silhouette: high waist, straight wide leg

The trousers come in one size. The maker's table gives a length of 104 cm. It lists two more numbers, 33 cm and 108 cm, but the column labels do not match them clearly, so we will not guess which is which. Ask us if you need a specific measurement and we will check with the supplier.

What the description and photos do tell you: the waist sits high, you pull the trousers on, and the belt takes up the slack. The leg is wide from the hip down and covers most of the foot on the model, who wears flat slides in some photos and heels in others.

Styling: one loose piece, one fitted

The supplier suggests a top, a shirt or a light blouse. Our advice is to balance the width: a fitted tank or a cropped top above, the wide leg below. A shirt works too if you tie it at the waist, as the model does with hers.

Flat sandals make it a beach-to-lunch outfit. With a heel under the hem the leg looks longer and the white or ecru pair can go out for dinner.

These are holiday trousers first. Pack them for a city trip in the heat, wear them over a swimsuit on the way to the beach bar, or put them on for a barbecue at home.

In a relaxed office the dark brown works on a summer Friday with a neat top. For anything formal the fabric is too casual.

One general habit for viscose blends: take the belt off before washing and hang the trousers to dry by the waistband, so the legs dry straight.
