In the photos the fabric hangs cleanly from hip to hem and does not shine. It reads as a trouser fabric, not as a legging, although an older keyword for this page suggested otherwise.

The table below comes from the maker. It gives a hip width of 96.5 cm in size 36 and 112.5 cm in size 44, and a waist width of 78 to 94 cm. Each size adds four centimetres at both points.

The table calls these "width" but the numbers only make sense as full circumference. It does not say whether they are garment or body measurements. Measure trousers that fit you around the waistband and the hip and compare. The length does not change with the size: 110 cm from 36 to 44.

Styling: the maker's three ideas

The supplier gives its own advice, and it is sound. With high heels the leg looks longer, because the hem hides the heel. With a blazer in the same black you get what it calls a soft office outfit. With a loose sweater and flat shoes the same trousers work at the weekend.

The photos follow that script: a cream shirt tucked in, a black blazer over it, pointed flats in one shot and dark pumps in the next. We would add a belt, since the loops are there.

Occasions

These are work trousers in the widest sense: the office, a client visit, a job interview, a parents' evening. With heels and a dressy top they also go out for dinner.
