The piece: a simple Tessita sweatshirt
Tessita describes it in one line: a simple sweatshirt made of knitted sweatshirt fabric with stripes on the sleeves. The supplier files it under sweatshirts, and the size table has a length and a chest for the top and nothing for a skirt.
The earlier title of this page promised a sweatshirt and pencil skirt set. That was not right, and we have changed the page so it says what arrives in the parcel.
There are five colours, each with its own model number: red, which is a burgundy in the photos, black, navy blue and two greys. One grey is a dark marl and the other a light marl.
Who it's for
For you if you wear high-waisted trousers and skirts and want a sweatshirt that stops where they start. A top of 45 to 50 cm does that on most people.
The size range is wide, from XS with a chest of 80 cm to XXL with 108 cm.

Fabric and feel: cotton-rich sweatshirt knit
The composition is 70% cotton and 30% polyester. That is a classic sweatshirt mix: the cotton gives the soft, matte hand and the polyester helps the fabric keep its shape.
In the photos the knit is smooth on the outside and fairly light for a sweatshirt. The maker gives no weight and does not say whether the inside is brushed.
Fit and silhouette: short and straight
The body is short and falls straight. Size M is 47 cm long with a chest of 90 cm; size L is 48 cm with 96 cm. Each size adds one centimetre in length.
Measure a sweatshirt you own from the highest point of the shoulder to the hem and compare. If you want it to cover the waistband of mid-rise jeans, 45 to 50 cm may be too short, and that is worth knowing before you order.

Styling: with or without a matching skirt
The photos pair it with a pencil skirt in the same colour and with sneakers, which makes a neat sporty outfit. You can copy that with any high-waisted skirt in a similar tone.
It also works over a slip dress, or with wide trousers and a belt. The lettered stripe is black and white, so black or white sneakers pick it up.
Occasions
Wear it to class, to a casual office or at the weekend. It is a sweatshirt, so it is at home anywhere jeans are.
The supplier gives no occasion at all. We think that fits a piece this simple.
Care: follow the label
The maker's data has no washing instructions, so follow the label sewn into the sweatshirt.
Printed tape in general lasts longer when the garment is washed inside out and not tumble-dried hot.
The wow detail: the sleeve tape
One line of tape changes a plain sweatshirt into something sportier. It starts at the shoulder seam and runs straight to the cuff, so when you bend your arm the lettering bends with it. In the back views in the gallery you see both stripes at once, like the piping on a track jacket.
