A striped top with a notched neck and a surprise at the back
From the front this striped top is a relaxed Breton-style shirt: blue and cream stripes, a small notch at the neck and one pocket on the chest. Turn around and there is a row of buttons down the back.
It is made of 65% polyester, 30% cotton and 5% elastane, slightly stretchy and opaque. It comes in peacock blue, in sizes S to XL.

The piece: stripes in a ribbed knit, by SYNZ
The top is sold under the label SYNZ. The supplier lists a pocket, an opaque fabric and a slight stretch.
The photos show more. The fabric has a fine horizontal rib, which gives the stripes some depth. The neck is finished with a cream band that opens in a short V at the front. The back has a yoke across the shoulders and five buttons in a horn look below it. The supplier does not say whether those buttons open, so treat them as decoration.
Who it's for
For you if you have worn out your last striped shirt and want the next one to be a little different. It is also a good pick if you like your tops wide: the bust in size S is 115.1 cm.
The body is short. With low-rise trousers a strip of skin may show when you lift your arms.

Fabric and feel: a polyester and cotton blend
The blend is 65% polyester, 30% cotton and 5% elastane. The supplier calls it opaque and slightly stretchy. In the close-up the fabric has a raised horizontal rib and looks fairly firm, more like a light sweatshirt than a thin T-shirt. We have no fabric weight to confirm that.
Fit and silhouette: wide and cropped
This is an oversized cut. Size S measures 115.1 cm at the bust, 59.9 cm across the shoulders, 45.5 cm along the sleeve and 54.1 cm in length. Size XL measures 134.9 cm, 70.1 cm, 46.5 cm and 59.7 cm. The supplier gives inches; we converted them.
The sleeve figure looks short, but the shoulder seam sits far down the arm, so sleeve and shoulder together still reach the wrist in the photos. If you are between sizes, take the smaller one. There is plenty of room.

Styling: cream, white or dark blue below
The photos show it with cream trousers, which picks up the cream in the stripes. White jeans do the same in summer, and dark blue jeans make it an everyday outfit.
Because the top is short and wide, a high waist works well. We would wear our hair up at least once, so the buttons on the back get seen.
Occasions
Wear it at the weekend, on a day by the sea, to a casual office or on the school run. Stripes like these never look overdressed and never look careless.
Care: cold wash, low dryer
The supplier's care instructions: machine wash cold, tumble dry low. Wash it with light colours the first few times, in case the blue gives off some dye onto the cream; that tip is ours.
The wow detail: buttons down the back
Five buttons run down the middle of the back, under a yoke. Nobody expects them on a striped shirt. They turn the back of the top into its second front, which is a nice thing to discover in a shop mirror.
