The supplier's description is short and we stick to it. The upper is a faux leather. The shoe stands on a platform, the toe is rounded, and inside there is a foam insole covered with fabric for cushioning.

What the description leaves out, the photos fill in. The sole is flat and equally high from toe to heel, in a caramel-brown gum colour. The laces match the pink of the upper.

Who they're for

For you if your wardrobe is mostly white, cream, grey and blue, and you want one pair of shoes that brings colour without shouting. Dusty pink does that. It reads as a neutral next to jeans and as an accent next to black.

They also suit you if you like a little extra height and have no patience for heels. A platform lifts you evenly, so your foot stays flat.

The supplier does not say what the sole or the lining is made of, so we don't either.

Materials and build: faux leather on a platform

The upper is faux leather. The supplier gives no percentages and no further breakdown, which is common for shoes from this wholesaler. In the photos the surface is smooth and matte, without a shine.

Inside, the insole is foam with a fabric cover. The supplier says it cushions the foot, and that is the one comfort claim in their text we are happy to repeat, because it describes a part you can see and press with your thumb when the shoes arrive.

Size and fit: go by the insole length

Stand on a sheet of paper with your heel against a wall, mark your longest toe and measure. Then pick the size whose insole is a little longer than your foot. The table below comes straight from the maker.

One thing to notice: the sizes go up by half a centimetre each, except the last one. Size 40 has an insole of 25.5 cm and size 41 jumps to 26.5 cm. If you usually sit between 40 and 41, your foot length decides.

The supplier gives no width, and says nothing about whether the shoe runs small or large.

Styling: let the pink be the only colour

In the photos the model wears them with cream joggers, pushed up so the ankle shows. That works because the trousers stop above the shoe and the stripes stay visible.

With straight jeans, roll the hem once. With a midi skirt and a grey sweatshirt you get the sporty kind of weekend outfit that still looks thought through. If you wear navy on top, a blazer or a knit, the stripes pick it up and the whole look ties together.

We would keep bright colours away from them. Pink plus a caramel sole is already a combination.
