Materials and build: faux leather with a waxed look

The supplier describes the material with the words "oil wax" and gives no hide and no composition. We list it as faux leather, as this shop has done from the start, and we would rather undersell than overpromise.

The oil-wax look means a smooth surface with a deep shine and soft colour changes where the bag bends. Scratches on finishes like this often rub out with a fingertip.

Size and weight: what we know

The supplier gives no measurements for the bag itself. Its shipping data lists a packed size of 33 x 17 x 23 cm, so the bag is no larger than that. In the photos it sits at hip height on the models and looks big enough for a wallet, phone, keys and a small water bottle.

The supplier text gives a weight of 0.73 kg, while the shipping data says 627 g packed. Count on a bag of roughly that weight, light enough for all day.

Styling: ladylike or casual

The supplier shows the burgundy bag crossbody over a cream knit and the cognac one on the shoulder with a white blouse and a black skirt. Cognac is also good with jeans and a trench coat. Black and blue are the easy office choices.

Occasions

Take it to work, on a city trip or to lunch with friends. It is also a nice gift for Mother's Day or a birthday.

Care: wipe, don't soak

The supplier gives no care instructions. As general practice for faux leather: wipe it with a soft, slightly damp cloth, let it dry away from the heater and keep it out of long rain. Stuff it with paper when you store it, so it keeps its shape.
