These suede ankle boots are the low, slip-on kind: a short shaft that stops at the ankle, a lined inside and a thick sole with a 3 cm platform. The maker lists the upper as suede leather.

The piece: two names for one boot
We want to be exact about the name. The supplier files these boots under the brand Solea. The maker's own text calls them snow boots by Gemre and names the model Matilda. We pass on both, because we cannot tell you which label is inside the boot.
The text describes an upper of leather and suede, an interior lined with fur for cold days, and a sole with an anti-slip tread. The photos show a low boot with raised seams, a pull tab at the heel and a ridged sole.
Who it's for
For you if you want a boot you can pull on on a cold morning without laces or zips. The low shaft makes it easy to wear with leggings and thick socks, the way the photos show it.

Materials and build: suede outside, a lining we cannot specify
The attribute table gives the upper as suede leather. Suede is leather with a brushed, velvety surface, and in the photos you can see that nap on all three colours. The leopard version carries its print on the same surface.
For the lining and the footbed the table says fur. It does not say sheepskin, and it does not say imitation. We have asked ourselves which it is and we do not know, so we will not guess on this page. Ask us before you order if you need a firm answer.
Size and dimensions: insole length per size
The insole is 24 cm in size 36, 24.5 cm in 37, 25 cm in 38, 25.5 cm in 39, 26 cm in 40 and 26.5 cm in 41. Each size adds half a centimetre.
Measure your foot from heel to longest toe. A lining takes up room, so if you plan to wear thick socks and you sit between two sizes, the larger one is the safer pick. The platform lifts you 3 cm.

Styling: socks on show
The photos show the brown pair with dark leggings and slouchy cream socks pushed down over the top, and the grey and leopard pairs with cropped white jeans. Both work because the ankle stays visible.
The leopard print is the loud one. Wear it with plain colours and let it be the only pattern.
Occasions
The maker has winter walks and cold days in mind. Think of the school run, the weekend market and the walk to the bakery in January. Suede and heavy rain are not friends, so save them for dry cold.
Care: no instructions from the maker
The maker's data has no care text. Suede in general likes a soft brush when it is dry and dislikes water. If the boots get wet, let them dry slowly at room temperature, away from the radiator, and brush the nap back up afterwards.
The wow detail: the seams sit on the outside
Look at the side of the boot. The seams are raised and run in a curve from the sole up to the top edge, with another across the toe. On a plain suede surface they draw the shape of the boot like a pencil line. It is the detail that makes this style recognisable from across the street.
