Slim Bathroom Bin with Built-In Toilet Brush

A slim bathroom bin with the toilet brush built in

This slim bathroom bin does two jobs in the space of one. Under the lift-up lid is a bin with a removable inner bucket, and at the front a compartment tilts open with the toilet brush in it.

The supplier gives the size as about 19.5 x 11 x 41.2 cm and the material as plastic. It comes in white or brown, with one brush.

At a glance

The piece: bin on top, brush below

From the outside it is a tall, narrow box. The lid on top lifts up. Inside hangs a bucket with a handle, which you take out to empty; one photo shows it with a bin bag in it.

The lower part of the front is a small door with a handle. Pull it and the compartment tilts toward you with the brush standing in it. The handle of the brush lies in a vertical recess on the front, so the brush stays out of sight apart from that strip. We sell it without a brand, because the supplier data names no maker.

Who it's for

For you if your toilet or bathroom is small and a separate bin and brush holder take up the little floor you have. At about 11 cm on its narrow side, this one fits in the gap between the toilet and the wall in the supplier's photos.

Closer look: what we can confirm

• One bin with one toilet brush, in white or brown (supplier)
• Lift-up lid (photos)
• Removable inner bucket with a handle, for a bin bag (photos)
• Pull-out front compartment for the brush (supplier and photos)
• Brush about 34 cm long with a head of 6 x 8 cm (supplier photo)
• About 19.5 x 11 x 41.2 cm (supplier)
• Not claimed: the tissue box the supplier text mentions, because the photos do not show one

Materials and build: plastic throughout

The supplier states plastic and nothing more. In the photos the surface is smooth and has one colour, white or brown. The brush has a white handle with a curved neck and white and grey bristles.

The supplier does not give the volume of the inner bucket in litres. Going by the outer size, think of a bin for make-up pads and small bathroom waste. It is too small for a household's daily rubbish.

Size and dimensions: about 41.2 cm high

The supplier gives about 19.5 x 11 x 41.2 cm. Going by the photos, 41.2 cm is the height. Measure the gap next to your toilet before you order, and count some extra room at the front, because the brush compartment tilts forward when you open it.

The brush is about 34 cm long and its head measures 6 x 8 cm. Those figures are printed on one of the supplier's photos.

Styling: white or brown

White matches most toilets and disappears next to one. Brown is the choice for a bathroom in beige tones or with dark tiles, where a white box would stand out.

Where it works

It suits a separate toilet under the stairs, a guest toilet or a compact bathroom in a flat. Anywhere a brush holder and a bin would otherwise stand side by side, this takes the floor space of one of them.

Care: empty it, rinse it, let it dry

The supplier gives no care instructions. As general practice, take the inner bucket out to empty it and rinse it now and then. Tip out any water that collects under the brush, and leave the compartment open for a while so the brush can dry.

The wow detail: the brush disappears

A toilet brush is the one thing in a bathroom nobody wants to look at. Here it stands behind a door, and only the strip of its handle shows on the front. Guests see a slim bin, and you know where the brush is.
