This pencil skirt from Venaton has a brushed, matte surface that looks like suede, and a single row of round buttons running from the waist to the hem. It is straight and close-fitting, 60 cm long in every size.
The fabric is 95% polyester and 5% spandex, so the suede is a look and not animal hide. There are three colours: an olive green, black and a camel brown.

The piece: three models by Venaton
Venaton lists the skirt as model 77378 in green, 77379 in black and 77380 in brown. A note on our colour buttons: the green one is labelled "Brown" on this page, and the camel one "brown". In the photos the maker's green is a muted olive that leans grey.
The maker's text says "in suede". The composition table says polyester with spandex. We go with the table and call it a suede look.
The maker also calls it midi length. At 60 cm it ends around the knee on the model, which most people would call knee length.
Who it's for
For you if you want a skirt for work that has some texture. A pencil skirt in plain suiting can feel stiff. The suede look softens it, and the buttons give the eye a line to follow.

The maker calls the buttons decorative and does not say how the skirt closes. With 5% spandex it may simply pull on, but we cannot confirm that.
Fabric and feel: polyester with a brushed face
The composition is 95% polyester and 5% spandex. In the close-up photos the surface has the uneven, slightly mottled shading that suede has, where the nap catches the light differently from place to place.
The spandex adds some stretch, which a narrow skirt needs for sitting and for stairs. The maker gives no fabric weight and does not mention a lining.
Fit and silhouette: straight and to the knee
Size S has a waist of 70 cm and hips of 92 cm. Each size up adds 4 cm to both, so M is 74 and 96 cm, L is 78 and 100 cm and XL is 82 and 104 cm. Length stays at 60 cm.
On the model the skirt sits at the waist and follows the hips without pulling. If your waist and hips fall in different sizes, choose by the hips. A pencil skirt that is tight there will ride up.

Styling: tuck in, keep it simple
The photos show a white tank top tucked in, with flat sandals or heeled ones. That is the summer version.
For autumn, I would wear the camel with a cream roll-neck and brown boots, and the olive with a black fine knit and ankle boots. The black one is the office skirt: a striped shirt, tights, loafers. Leave the top tucked so the full row of buttons shows.
Occasions
It works for the office, a lunch, a presentation, a dinner. The length is modest and the texture keeps it from looking like a uniform. In the warmer colours it also suits a weekend outfit with a T-shirt.
Care: follow the label
The maker's data has no care instructions, so follow the label sewn into the skirt. Brushed fabrics in general keep their surface longer when washed inside out and dried without heat.
The wow detail: one straight line of buttons
Round buttons in an old-gold tone run down the exact centre of the skirt and end in a small slit. On a matte fabric they catch the light one by one. The line also makes the skirt look longer than its 60 cm.
