Description
A button-front midi skirt in pure viscose
This button-front midi skirt by Figl is cut in a trapeze shape: narrow at the waist and wider with every centimetre towards the hem. A row of buttons runs down the front from the waistband to the bottom edge.
The fabric is 100% viscose and the skirt has no lining and no pockets. It comes in two double sizes, S/M at 84 cm long and L/XL at 86 cm. The print we sell now is the dark floral one: pale pink flowers on navy and burgundy.

The piece: model 157496 by Figl
Figl describes this skirt in one short line: a trapeze midi skirt, buttoned at the front, without pockets, unlined. We like that kind of description, because there is nothing in it to argue with.
The maker made the same skirt in two prints. Model 157496 is the dark floral you see in the third and fourth photo. Model 157495, the leaf print in blue, burgundy and cream from the first two photos, is no longer available at the wholesaler, so we can't deliver it any more. Its photos stay in the gallery because they show the cut clearly.
The supplier calls both prints simply multicolor, and that is why our colour buttons carry the same word.
Who it's for
For you if you want a skirt that covers the knee and still moves when you walk. A trapeze cut does that: it leaves the hips alone and gives the hem room.
It also suits you if you prefer a dark print to a plain dark skirt. From across the room the pattern reads as navy. Up close you see the flowers. With only two double sizes, the waist width decides: 72 cm in S/M and 80 cm in L/XL.
Closer look: what the maker states and what the photos show
- Trapeze cut in midi length (maker's data)
- Buttons at the front (maker's data); in the photos the row runs from waistband to hem
- No pockets, no lining (maker's data)
- 100% viscose (maker's data)
- High waist, hem at mid-calf on the model (photos)
- Pale pink flowers on a navy and burgundy ground (photos)
The maker does not say whether every button opens or whether some are decorative. If you want to wear the skirt with the lower buttons undone, ask us first and we will check with the supplier.
Fabric and feel: 100% viscose, no lining
The composition is 100% viscose. Viscose is a fibre made from cellulose, and in a woven skirt it usually feels cool and smooth and hangs with some weight. You can see that in the photos, where the hem swings out as the model turns.
There is no lining. In a dark print that is rarely a problem, but viscose can cling to tights. A thin slip underneath solves that on cold days. The maker gives no fabric weight, so we can't tell you how thick it is in numbers.
Fit and silhouette: narrow waist, wide hem
The skirt sits high on the waist in the photos and ends at mid-calf on the model. The maker's table gives a length of 84 cm for S/M and 86 cm for L/XL. Hips width is 102 cm and 110 cm, which leaves room; the waist is the measurement to watch.
Measure the waistband of a skirt that fits you, laid flat, and double the number. Close to 72 cm means S/M. Close to 80 cm means L/XL. The maker's data mentions no elastic, so we would not count on the waist giving way.
Size chart (cm)
| Size | Length | Hips width | Waist width |
|---|---|---|---|
| S/M | 84 | 102 | 72 |
| L/XL | 86 | 110 | 80 |

Styling: pick one colour from the print
In the photos the dark floral is worn with a pale pink blouse tucked in and tan pumps with a block heel. The blouse repeats the pink of the flowers, and that is the easy rule for a printed skirt: take one colour out of the print and wear it on top.
Navy works the same way and makes the whole outfit darker. A fine knit tucked in at the front and ankle boots take it into autumn. Keep the top short or tucked, because the buttons and the high waist are the part worth showing.
Occasions
This is a daytime skirt that also holds up at a dinner. Wear it to the office with a blouse and to a birthday lunch with a knit. The length makes it easy on a bike or on stairs, and the dark ground keeps it calm enough for a meeting.
For a wedding or a formal evening we would look at something longer or plainer. The print is friendly, and it stays an everyday print.
Care: follow the label
The maker's data we receive has no care instructions, so please go by the label sewn into the skirt. We would rather say that than guess.
Viscose in general is weaker when wet and can shrink in hot water, so check the label before the first wash. Close the buttons before washing and hang the skirt to dry so the hem keeps its line.
The wow detail: the line of buttons
The buttons draw one straight line through a busy print. Your eye follows it from the waistband to the hem, and that makes the skirt look longer and more ordered than a printed skirt without it. It is a small thing. It is also the reason this one looks like a skirt someone thought about.
