This is the thinnest kind of belt: a strap you tie your outfit together with more than something that holds your trousers up. The buckle is small and square, in a matte gold tone.

The supplier states cowhide leather and a length of 100.1 cm in one size. There are three colours: black, a dark brown and caramel.

In the photos the strap is smooth with a stitched edge, the tip is pointed, and two keepers in the belt material hold the end in place. On the caramel belt the stitching is easy to see. On the black one it disappears.

For you if a regular belt looks heavy on your dresses and fine knits. A strap this narrow sits lightly on thin fabrics. One size of 100.1 cm does not fit every body, so measure first.

The supplier's material field reads cowhide leather and nothing more: no finish, no lining, no metal for the buckle. Gold-tone is our description of the buckle's colour. We cannot tell you what metal it is.

Size and dimensions: one length

The belt is 100.1 cm long, converted by us from 39.4 inches. The supplier does not give the width or say where the first and last hole sit.

Measure over your clothes at the place you plan to wear it, waist or hip, and leave room for the end to pass through the buckle and both keepers. If your measurement comes close to the length of the belt, it will be too short.

Styling: on dresses, knits and paper-bag waists

Belt a loose dress, a long cardigan or an oversized shirt at the waist. Thread it through high-waisted trousers with slim loops. The dark brown and caramel pair well with cream, beige and blue jeans. Black is the one for black-and-white outfits.

Care: no instructions from the supplier

The supplier gives no care instructions. Keep a leather belt dry, wipe it with a soft cloth, and hang it or roll it loosely when you are not wearing it.

The wow detail: a buckle the size of a fingernail

The buckle is tiny and nearly square. It sits on the strap like a small piece of jewellery, and against the dark brown it is the only thing that catches the light. If you find big buckles loud, this is the opposite.
