This tiered tulle mini skirt by Och Bella is all volume. Four ruffled layers of tulle sit on top of each other, each a little lower than the last, over a lining.
You pull it on: there is no zip, only an elastic waist. It comes in one size with a length of 50 cm. Right now you can order it in light grey and in caramel brown.

The piece: an Och Bella skirt, colour by colour
Och Bella sells through a Polish fashion wholesaler, and each colour of this skirt has its own model number. The supplier describes a plain tulle skirt of mini length, with layers of tulle and delicate ruffles, a lining and no fastening.
Our photos show six colours. The supplier has two in stock today: the light grey and the lighter of the two browns, which we call caramel. That one is our button "brown 2". The dark brown and the green show as unavailable, and the burgundy and pink in the photos have no button at all.
Who it's for
For you if you like to dress up without a dress. A skirt like this turns a plain black top into a party outfit.
It is short and it stands out from the body, so it suits you if you are happy to show your legs. One size with an elastic waist fits a range of bodies, but the maker gives no waist measurement, so we can't tell you where that range ends.

Fabric and feel: tulle on a lining
The composition is 70% polyester and 30% viscose. The maker gives one figure for the skirt and does not say which part is which.
Tulle is a fine open net. Gathered into tiers it holds air, which is where the volume comes from. The lining sits against your skin, so the net does not scratch. At the hem the last tier of tulle hangs free below the lining, and you can see through it.
Size and fit: one size, 50 cm
The one measurement the maker gives is the length: 50 cm. On the models that ends around mid-thigh, with the sheer edge a little lower.
The waist is elastic and has no closure, so the skirt has to pass over your hips or shoulders to go on. The waist width is empty in the maker's table. If you want it before ordering, ask us and we will check with the supplier.

Styling: fitted on top
The photos show three ways to wear it. With a black bodysuit it is a party look. With a white cropped blouse it turns sweet. With a checked blazer over a plain top it becomes something you could wear to a birthday lunch.
The rule behind all three: keep the top close to the body, because the skirt brings the volume. Chunky boots and black tights take the grey one into winter.
Occasions
The supplier names parties, weddings and evening outings. We would add New Year's Eve, a concert and any birthday where you plan to dance. With sneakers and a sweatshirt it also survives a Saturday in town.
Care: follow the label
The maker's data we receive has no care instructions, so please go by the label sewn into the skirt. We would rather tell you that than guess.
One habit helps with any tulle: keep it away from rings, bracelets and open zips, and hang the skirt so the tiers are not crushed.
The wow detail: the edge of each tier
Each tier ends in a raw, sheer edge that overlaps the next. From the front you see four soft horizontal lines. From the side the tiers stick out like the pages of an open book. When you move, they bounce separately. It is a small skirt with a lot going on, and that is the fun of it.
