This knitted dress and bolero set by Figl gives you two pieces in one colour: a sleeveless midi dress with a deep neckline, and a short open cardigan with long sleeves and a big bow on the front. The yarn is half cotton, half acrylic.
It is one size. The dress is 105 cm long and the bolero 64 cm. There are seven colours, from beige and black to bright pink and turquoise.

The piece: dress, bolero and seven colours
The maker describes a two-piece set of a midi dress and a bolero. The bolero has long sleeves, an open front and a decorative bow. The dress has thick straps and a deep neckline.
A few colour names need explaining. The maker lists "violet" for what is a bright pink in the photos (our button: Hot Pink). There are two beiges: a sand beige and a white (button: Off White). And there are two blues: a turquoise (button: blue) and a cornflower blue (button: blue 2). Green and black are as named.
Who it's for
For you if spring and early autumn leave you guessing. Sleeveless at noon, sleeves on by four: the bolero comes with the dress and matches it exactly.
The cut is straight and easy. The dress measures 100 cm at the chest and 108 cm at the waist, so it skims and does not cling on most bodies. The knit is fairly open, so plan a slip or matching underwear under the light colours.

Fabric and feel: half cotton, half acrylic
The yarn is 50% cotton and 50% acrylic. Cotton keeps a knit cool and matte; acrylic keeps it light and helps the colour stay bright, which you can see in the pink and the green.
In the photos the stitch is loose enough for light to pass through, most clearly in the white and beige sets. The supplier lists the weight of the set at 450 grams.
Fit and silhouette: straight dress, boxy bolero
One size. The dress is 105 cm long with a chest of 100 cm and a waist of 108 cm, so it widens slightly towards the hem. The bolero is 64 cm long and 112 cm at the chest.
Measure 105 cm down from your shoulder to see where the hem lands; on the model it is mid-calf. The side slits give room to walk. Knits give a little, and they also grow a little with wear, so do not size your expectations too tight.

Styling: together, apart, tied or open
The photos show the set with strappy heels and with chunky colourful loafers. Both work, which tells you how relaxed this outfit is about shoes.
Wear the dress alone on a hot day with flat sandals. Wear the bolero over a white T-shirt and jeans; the bow makes a plain outfit look planned. In the bright colours, keep everything else quiet. In beige or black, add colour with a bag or shoes.
Occasions
This set suits a birthday lunch, a day at the office, a holiday evening, a communion or a garden party. The supplier files it under day dresses, and that is where it belongs.

The maker's data has no washing instructions, so follow the labels sewn into both pieces.
A long knitted dress should dry flat. On a hanger the weight of the wet yarn pulls it longer. Wash the two pieces together so the colour stays the same on both.
The wow detail: a bow the size of your hand
The bolero has no buttons. What it has is one large knitted bow, set on one side of the open front, with long tails hanging down. It is knitted in the same yarn and colour as everything else, so it reads as texture. You see it when someone stands close, and that is when the compliments come.
