The piece: two parts, one knit
The maker describes a set of a short long-sleeved sweater and a midi skirt in ribbed material, meant for everyday wear. In the photos the sweater stops above the waist, so a strip of skin shows between the two pieces. Its neckline crosses over into a V and a wide band holds it under the bust.
The skirt sits high and close, and ends below the knee on the model. Both parts share the same fine vertical rib, which is why they read as one outfit.
One thing to know: our page used to be titled as a skirt only. The supplier lists and ships the set, sweater included.
Who it's for
For you if you like getting dressed in one move. Top and skirt match, so the thinking is done before you open the wardrobe.
It is a close-fitting set in a single size, with a chest of 88 cm and a waist of 68 cm in the maker's table. If you are far from those numbers in either direction, this one may not sit the way it does in the photos, and we would rather you know that now.
Closer look: what the maker states and what the photos show
- Short sweater with long sleeves (maker's data)
- Midi skirt in ribbed material (maker's data)
- Decorative buttons on the front of the skirt (maker's data)
- Crossed V-neckline with a wide band under the bust (photos)
- Slit at the front of the skirt, below the buttons (photos)
- High waist, hem below the knee on the model (photos)
The maker calls the buttons decorative. The data does not say whether they open, or whether the skirt has an elastic waist.
Fabric and feel: mostly viscose
The composition is 68% viscose and 32% polyester. The maker says the sweater is made mainly of viscose and calls it pleasant to the touch. Viscose knits tend to feel smooth and a little cool against the skin, and they hang with some weight.
The rib is fine and runs vertically on both pieces. A rib knit stretches across the body and springs back, which is how one size can cover more than one figure.
Fit and silhouette: one size, close to the body
There is one size. The maker's table gives a chest of 88 cm, a waist of 68 cm and a length written as 32/80. We read that as 32 cm for the sweater and 80 cm for the skirt, which matches the photos: a sweater that ends at the ribs and a skirt that ends below the knee.
Measure a fitted knit you own across the chest and compare. The rib will give, but the table does not say how far.
Size chart (cm)
| Size | Length sweater / skirt | Chest | Waist |
|---|---|---|---|
| One size | 32/80 | 88 | 68 |
Source: the maker's size table. It gives the length as 32/80, which we read as sweater and skirt. It does not say whether chest and waist are measured flat or stretched, and a rib knit gives.
Styling: together first, apart later
In the photos the set is worn on its own with heeled mules or pointed pumps. That is the easy version, and it works.
For colder days, a long coat left open over the set keeps the line of the skirt visible. The pieces also split well. The skirt takes a loose shirt or an oversized sweater, and the short sweater sits neatly above high-waisted trousers.
Occasions
The maker made it for everyday looks and mentions colder days for the long sleeves. We see it at a lunch, a birthday or dinner with friends. With a blazer over the sweater it can go to an office that is relaxed about a little bare midriff.
Care: follow the label
The maker's data has no washing instructions, so follow the labels sewn into the two pieces. We would rather say that than guess.
A general habit for viscose knits: dry them flat. Hung up wet, a knit skirt can grow longer under its own weight.
The wow detail: buttons that end in a slit
The button row runs down one side of the skirt front and stops where the slit begins. So the eye follows a line of buttons and then finds a bit of leg. On a skirt this narrow the slit also does a practical job: you can take a normal step.
