One fact to know before you order. The supplier calls it denim, but lists the fabric as 100% polyester without stretch. So it has the look of denim, and we describe it as a denim look. It comes in blue, in sizes S to XL.

The dress is sold under the label Velvet Ocean. The supplier lists buttons, a belt and pockets, and no stretch.
In the photos the fabric is a washed mid blue with contrast topstitching, the way jeans are sewn. The chest pockets have buttoned flaps, the sleeves are gathered at the shoulder and end in a small buttoned cuff, and there are pockets in the side seams. The belt is made of the same fabric and runs through loops.
Who it's for
For you if you want one dress that does most of a week: work with loafers, weekend with sneakers, dinner with sandals. The belt gives you a waist, and the pockets are real enough to hold your hands in the photos.

Fabric and feel: polyester with a denim look
The supplier's title says denim and its composition says 100% polyester. We go by the composition. In the photos the cloth has the colour and the stitching of washed denim and hangs with some body, but we cannot tell you how heavy it is, because the supplier gives no weight.
No stretch means the dress does not give at the bust or hips.
Fit and silhouette: fitted waist, flared skirt
The bust measures 96 cm in S, 100.1 cm in M, 105.9 cm in L and 112 cm in XL. The hip runs from 102.1 cm to 118.1 cm and the length from 102.1 cm to 104.9 cm. The supplier gives these in inches; we converted them and rounded to one decimal.
On the model the hem falls to mid-calf. Check the bust first, since a button front that is too tight will gape. If you are between two sizes, we would take the larger one and let the belt pull in the waist.

Styling: sneakers by day, sandals at night
The photos show the dress with white sneakers and a small handbag, and again with flat brown sandals and a straw bag. In that second look the lower buttons are open, so the skirt splits when you walk.
In autumn, add tall boots and a long cardigan. You can also wear it open over a T-shirt and trousers as a light coat, since the buttons run all the way down.
Occasions
Wear it to work, to a birthday lunch, on a city trip or to a summer evening on a terrace. It is a day dress that does not look out of place after dark.
