A sleeveless denim dress that buttons from collar to hem
This sleeveless denim dress is long, belted and buttoned all the way down. Close every button for a clean column, or leave the lower ones open, as in the photos, and it moves like a dress with a front slit.
It comes in dark gray, burnt coral and light blue, in sizes S to XL, and measures 127 cm to 130 cm from shoulder to hem.

The piece: a shirt dress by Velvet Ocean
The supplier calls it a button front sleeveless denim dress, pocketed and belted, with no stretch. The composition is listed as 95% rayon and 5% polyester. That is not the fibre you would expect in denim, and we pass it on as stated. A rayon fabric with a denim look is usually lighter and more fluid than the real thing, which would suit a dress this long.
The photos show a notched collar, two chest pockets with flaps, two pockets at the hip and a tie belt in the same fabric.
Who it's for
For you if you like one-piece dressing with pockets. The belt lets you set the waist where you want it, and the buttons let you decide how much leg to show. At 127 cm and up it is long, so on a shorter woman it will reach the ankle or the floor.

Fabric and feel: denim look, rayon blend
The supplier states 95% rayon and 5% polyester, with no stretch. In the photos all three colours have the faded, slightly mottled surface of washed denim. No fabric weight is given, and the supplier does not mention a lining.
Fit and sizing: check bust and waist
Size M has a bust of 98 cm, a waist of 75.9 cm and a length of 128 cm. Because the fabric does not stretch and the front is held by buttons, the bust needs to fit without pulling. Measure yourself at the fullest point and choose a size with a few centimetres to spare.
The belt takes in any extra room at the waist. The supplier gives the chart in inches; we converted it and rounded to one decimal.

Styling: sneakers, sandals or boots
The photos show white sneakers with the coral and light blue dresses and wedge sandals with the dark gray one. All three work. For autumn, wear it open over a tee and jeans as a long sleeveless coat, or closed over a fine knit with boots.
Dark gray is the city colour. Burnt coral is the one for holidays. Light blue is the classic.
Occasions
Wear it to lunch, on a city trip, to a casual office or to a barbecue. It is a daytime dress that carries into the evening if you swap the sneakers for sandals.
Care: cold wash, belt out
The supplier says machine wash cold and tumble dry low. Take the belt out and close the buttons first. Rayon can shrink in warm water, so keep to cold, and wash the coral and the dark gray with similar colours.
The wow detail: buttons you can leave open
The button front makes this three dresses in one. Fully closed it is neat and covered. Open from the knee it gets a slit. Open from the top over a camisole it becomes a long waistcoat. Few dresses give you that much choice.
