This travel toothbrush holder is a set of two cups that close onto each other, with a holder for your toothbrush and a box for toothpaste inside. Closed, it is one ribbed column of 8 x 21 cm that stands upright in your bag.

The supplier gives the weight as 180 g and the material as ABS and PP. You choose orange, dark teal, white or pink, each with gold-tone rims.

The supplier lists four pieces: a wash cup, a mouth rinse cup, a toothbrush holder and a toothpaste storage box. In the photos the two cups have fluted sides and a gold-tone band where they meet, so the closed set looks like one object rather than two cups taped together.

Open, you use one cup for rinsing and stand the holder in the other, with the brush and a tube upright. The lower cup carries a small round MUDU logo. The supplier data names no maker, so that logo is the only brand mark we can see.

Material and build: light plastic with a gold-tone trim

ABS and PP are two common types of plastic. The supplier says the set wipes clean easily, and at 180 g for all four pieces it adds very little to your luggage. The gold-tone rims are part of the plastic, coloured to look like gold.

In the photos the ribbed surface has a soft matte look, which hides small water marks better than a glossy cup would.

Size: 8 x 21 cm, upright in your bag

The supplier gives 8 x 21 cm for the closed column. In the photos that reads as about 8 cm across and 21 cm tall, roughly the height of a toothbrush with a little room to spare. It fits in the side pocket of many backpacks and stands in the corner of a carry-on.

The supplier does not say how much liquid each cup holds. In the photos they are ordinary tooth-mug size.

Styling: pick the colour of your bathroom

White with gold is the quiet option and looks at home on a light sink. Dark teal and orange stand out, which helps when you are packing in a hurry and want to spot it in your bag. Pink sits well next to other pastel toiletries.

At home, you can leave it open on the sink as a normal tooth mug and close it only when you travel.

Occasions

Pack it for a city trip or a camping weekend. Keep a second one in the car or at the office for the days you brush your teeth away from home.

Care: rinse and let it dry open

The supplier gives no care instructions, only that it is easy to wipe clean. As general practice for plastic cups: rinse them after use and let all parts dry open before you close the set, so no water stays trapped inside. Avoid scouring pads on the gold-tone rims.

The wow detail: the gold line in the middle

When the two cups close, their gold-tone rims meet in one line around the middle. It is a small thing, but it turns a travel item into something you are happy to leave out on the sink when friends come to stay.
