Yoga leggings with a strip of lace down each side

These are slim, high-waisted yoga leggings with a sheer lace panel down the outer side of each leg, from the hip to the hem. The waistband is wide and dips into a V at the front.

The supplier lists nylon and spandex and calls the length cropped; on the model they stop just above the ankle. Black or white, sizes S to XL.

The piece: sporty front, lace on the side

From the front they look like plain yoga leggings. Turn to the side and you see the lace: a floral pattern set into the leg in a long panel that narrows towards the ankle. In white, some skin shows through. In black the lace reads darker and more subtle.

We sell them without a brand, because the supplier data names no maker. The old version of this page called them moisture-wicking performance pants with a key pocket. The supplier says nothing about a pocket, so we took that out.

Who it's for

For you if you like leggings for yoga or pilates but want something prettier than plain black. They also work outside the studio, with an oversized sweater and sneakers.

The supplier warns that its sizes run 1 to 2 sizes small. Take the larger size if you are in doubt.

Fabric and feel: nylon with stretch

The supplier lists nylon and spandex but gives no percentages. Spandex is what makes leggings stretch and spring back. Nylon is smooth and dries quickly. The supplier describes the fabric as absorbing moisture and sweat. The lace panels are thinner than the rest, so they feel airier on the side of the leg.

The white pair is semi-sheer at the lace. Plan your underwear for that.

Fit and silhouette: high and slim

The hip measures 70 cm in S up to 82 cm in XL. Those are the leggings' own measurements before stretching, so they are smaller than your body. Length runs from 82 to 88 cm, which lands just above the ankle on the model.

The supplier also gives US sizes 4, 8, 12 and 16 and asks you to allow 2-3 cm. Because it says its sizes run small, we would go one up if you are between two.

Styling: studio to street

For a class, pair the black ones with a black sports top so the lace is the only detail. Off the mat, try the white pair with a cropped grey sweatshirt and white sneakers, or the black with a long cardigan and ankle boots.

Occasions

Wear them to yoga, pilates or a barre class, on a walk, or for a slow Sunday at home.

Care: gentle on the lace

The supplier gives no care instructions, so follow the sewn-in label. As general practice for stretch leggings with lace: wash cool and inside out, ideally in a laundry bag, skip fabric softener and let them air dry. Wash the white pair with whites only.

The wow detail: the side view

Most leggings look the same from every angle. These change when you turn: the lace panel draws one long line from hip to ankle, which makes the leg look longer in the mirror.
