Description
A small digital caliper for jobs around the house
This is a small digital caliper that measures from 0 to 100 mm and shows the result on an LCD in steps of 0.1 mm. One button switches between millimetres and inches, and a ZERO button resets the display wherever the jaws are.
The body is a lightweight plastic fibre, according to the supplier, and the whole tool is 177 mm long in the photos. You get one caliper per pack.

The piece: light, black and simple
It looks like a classic caliper in black: two pairs of jaws, a sliding head with the display and a printed scale on the beam in mm and inch. The buttons are labelled ON, OFF, mm/in and ZERO, so there is nothing to learn.
We sell it without a brand. The old title called it a precision caliper; the label on the back gives an accuracy of plus or minus 0.2 mm, which is fine for hobby work and too coarse for a machine shop. We would rather say that up front.
Who it's for
For you if you print parts at home, build models or make jewellery. It also helps when you simply want to know the size of a screw before you drive to the hardware shop. Because the jaws are plastic fibre, they are kind to soft things such as beads, coins and printed parts.

Materials and build
The supplier calls the material lightweight plastic fibre, and the label on the back says carbon fibre composites. In practice that means a light tool that does not scratch what you measure. It also flexes more than a heavy workshop caliper would, which is one reason the accuracy is given as 0.2 mm.
Size and range
The measuring range is 0 to 100 mm and the tool is 177 mm long overall, so it fits in a pencil case or a kitchen drawer. The photos show jaws for outside and inside measurements. For anything wider than 100 mm you need a bigger caliper or a tape measure.
How to use it
Switch it on, close the jaws and press ZERO. Open the jaws around the object, read the number, and press mm/in if you need the other unit. Pressing ZERO halfway is handy for comparing two parts: set the first to zero and the display shows the difference with the second.
When it comes in handy
It helps when you order a replacement part online and need the diameter, when you sort drill bits that lost their markings, or when a child wants to measure everything in the house for a school project. It is also a small, useful gift for a tinkerer.
Care
The supplier gives no care instructions and does not say whether a battery is in the pack. The label names an SR44 or LR44 button cell of 1.55 V, so have one at hand. As general practice for digital calipers, keep it dry, wipe the beam with a soft cloth and switch it off after use.
The wow detail: the ZERO button
On an old analogue caliper you read a vernier scale and do the sum in your head. Here you press ZERO anywhere along the beam and the display starts counting from that point. It turns a measuring tool into a comparing tool, and it is the button you will use most.
