A long evening dress with sleeves made of sequins
This long evening dress by Bicotone puts all its sparkle in one place. The body is plain and matte, in one solid colour from neckline to floor. The sleeves are sheer and covered in sequins.
The front crosses over into a V, the skirt opens in a slit on the leg, and a covered zip closes the dress. It is lined, runs from size 34 to 48 and measures 153 to 158 cm in length.

The piece: one dress, ten colours
Bicotone files this dress under evening dresses and gives each colour its own model number. The description is the same for all of them: two sequin sleeves, a heart-shaped neckline that slightly exposes the bust, a layered bottom with a slit, a lining and a covered zip. Only the text for the navy dress leaves the lining out, so we cannot confirm it for that colour.
Our colour names and the maker's do not always match, so trust the photos. Our "White" is the maker's beige and looks ecru. "Blue" is a light sky blue and "blue 2" a strong cobalt. "Taupe" is the maker's brown. "Fuchsia" is listed by the maker as violet and is a bright pink in the photos.

Fabric and feel: two fabrics and a lining
The maker lists three compositions. Fabric 1 is 93% polyester with 7% elastane. Fabric 2 is 100% polyester. The lining is 70% polyester and 30% viscose. The maker does not say which fabric goes where. From the photos it is a fair reading that the stretchy fabric is the body and the pure polyester is the sequin net of the sleeves.
The body looks matte and dense, a crepe-like cloth that drapes into the pleats at the waist. The elastane lets a narrow skirt move with you. The viscose in the lining is a nice touch, since it feels cooler on the skin than an all-polyester lining.
Fit and silhouette: close and long
The maker's table covers eight sizes. Size 38 has a chest of 92 cm and a waist of 72 cm at a length of 155 cm. Size 44 has 104 and 84 cm at 158 cm. From 44 up, the length stays at 158 cm.
The table has no hip measurement, and the skirt is narrow. If your hips are your widest point, size by them and use the stretch in the fabric for the rest. On the model the hem touches the floor with heels on. At 153 to 158 cm, the dress is made for heels, and shorter women may need the hem taken up.

Styling: bare neck, small bag
The model wears heeled sandals with thin straps in every photo, and in one she carries a small white bag. Nothing more is needed. The sleeves do the job of jewellery.
We would keep the neck bare or wear one fine chain, and choose earrings over a bracelet, since the cuffs already sit at the wrist. Clear or nude sandals work with the light colours. Black sandals look good with the red, the green and the navy. Wear your hair up if you want the V at the back to show.
Occasions
This is a dress for the big evenings: a gala, a prom, a wedding where the invitation says long, New Year's Eve. In ecru it could also be a simple bridal dress for a registry-office wedding. As a guest, leave that colour to the bride.

Sequins on net are fragile in any wash. Store the dress on a hanger with the sleeves hanging free, and keep rings and bracelets away from the net when you put it on.
