The piece: eight colours, two fabrics
Bicotone sells this design under eight model numbers, one per colour. The description is the same for all of them: a one-shoulder dress with decorative feathers, for special occasions, with a covered zip and a lining.
There is one difference you should know about. White, brown, violet and black are listed as 70% viscose and 30% polyester and go up to size 42. The reds, the green and the blue are listed as 93% polyester and 7% spandex and go up to size 48. So the newer colours have stretch and the first four do not.
The wholesaler calls the lightest colour beige. In the photos it is white, and that is what our colour button says. There are two reds: a deep wine red and a bright red.
Who it's for
For you if you have a gala, a wedding or a ball on the calendar and want a dress that needs no necklace. The shoulder is the jewellery.
It is a fitted column, so it follows hips and waist. If you like room around the hips, look at an A-line gown instead. If you are between sizes in white, brown, violet or black, remember that those have no spandex.

Fabric and feel: check your colour
Which fabric you get depends on the colour. White, brown, violet and black are 70% viscose and 30% polyester according to the maker. Red, green and blue are 93% polyester and 7% spandex.
In the photos both versions look alike: smooth, matte and heavy enough to hang straight. The ruffle stands up on its own, so the cloth has some body. The spandex versions will give a little when you sit; the viscose blend will not, which makes the size choice more exact. All colours are lined.
Fit and silhouette: a column to the floor
The dress is close-fitting from bust to knee and falls straight from there. Size 38 is listed with a chest of 84 cm, a waist of 72 cm and a length of 148 cm. Each size adds four centimetres at chest and waist.
Length matters with a floor-length dress. Measure from your shoulder to the floor in the heels you plan to wear and compare that with the table. The slit gives your stride room, so the narrow skirt does not hold you back on stairs.

Styling: almost nothing
In the photos the dress is worn with strappy heeled sandals and small earrings. That is all it needs. Skip the necklace; it would compete with the ruffle.
Wear your hair up or to one side so the bare shoulder stays visible. A small clutch in a metallic tone works with every colour. For the walk outside, a wrap over the bare shoulder is easier than a coat that crushes the ruffle.
Occasions
The maker made it for special occasions, and it is a festive long dress in every sense: gala, ball, black-tie wedding, a big anniversary.
One practical note about white. At a wedding that colour belongs to the bride, so pick one of the other seven unless the bride is you.
Care: follow the label
The maker's data has no care instructions. Follow the label sewn into the dress, and note that the two fabric versions may have different labels.
Feather trim does not like a washing machine in general. If the label allows washing, we would still protect the shoulder, and many people take a dress like this to a dry cleaner.
The wow detail: feathers on the ruffle
The ruffle alone would be enough. It is cut in several layers that fan out over the shoulder and stand away from the body. Then there are the feathers: a few fine ones along the edge, so light that they move when you turn your head. From across a room you see the shape. Up close you see the feathers.
