The piece: Kalimo models 209072 and 209073
Kalimo says this gown was made in the mood of exotic holidays, with a pattern inspired by an oriental trip. The photos, taken barefoot in a tropical garden, make the same point.
The cut is a classic kimono shape. The sleeves are wide and end between elbow and wrist, a plain band runs along the front edges, and the belt is in the same plain colour. The supplier files it under dressing gowns and bathrobes.
To be clear about the word robe: this is a satin gown for lounging. It is not towelling and will not dry you after a shower.
Who it's for
For you if you like to look dressed before you are dressed. A robe like this goes over a nightdress or pyjamas for breakfast, and over a swimsuit on holiday.
It also makes a good gift, because the tie belt forgives a size that is slightly off.

Fabric and feel: polyester satin with a little stretch
The composition is 97% polyester and 3% spandex. Satin is a weave, and here it is woven from polyester, which gives the smooth, cool surface and the soft shine you see in the photos.
The maker compares the look to a much costlier fibre. We will say it more plainly: it is polyester satin, it slides over the skin and it catches the light when you move.
Fit and silhouette: wrap and tie
The maker's table gives body measurements per size. Size S is for a chest of 84-89 cm and hips of 91-95 cm; size XXL is for a chest of 105-109 cm and hips of 111-115 cm. The full table is below.
A wrap robe is easy to fit. You overlap the front as far as you like and tie the belt. The length is not in the table. On the model the hem lands halfway down the calf.

Styling: at home and a little beyond
Indoors it goes over whatever you sleep in. The black version looks good over a plain black slip dress, and that is how it is worn in the photos.
Outdoors it works as a holiday cover-up, open over a swimsuit on the way to the pool. Some people wear a printed robe like this as a light summer coat over jeans and a white T-shirt. The belt lets you close it when the evening cools.
